Mpg
I know I am a nerd, and I enjoy statistics....but this is an interesting discussion on MPG for our cars. The read may not be easy to understand, but the graphs are easy to read. Looks like % of highway driving, and "driving style" are the biggest factors in determining our MPG. Gives me a clear understanding of how my gas mileage is so much beyond what most of you guys are getting....and even in looking at the difference in miles per tank between Erica and I. Sure, she drives slightly less highway (maybe like 10% less), but she has a much more aggressive driving style than me (we are talking daily driving)...I get really bad MPG on the second Saturday of the month, and on certain championship days at Fontana Speedway
Just as a comparison to the actual data collected, I drive about 90% highway, and get 290+ miles per tank (at 14.000 or so gallons at fillup).....about 20.7 MPG for me.

Holy **** Keith! That thread has been there for 3 years and I'd never noticed it.... that guy is a math whiz!
When I get home, I'll show you guys an excel spreadsheet that I use to calculate mpg.

either you have a differant flash (differant fuel mixtures) or you drive differant. can't blame it on aero because you two are the same. cant blame it on tire size because you both have same tire size (right?)
i doubt it, but you could have been running differant gas, some guys "claim" they get better milage from using a lower octain.
if you traveled at differant times you could blame it on wind direction or air denseness..... did you guys travel together?
thats everything I can think of off the top of my head.

Only explanation is that my car sucks
I was even drafting him most of the way. Same speed. Body weight is about the same, I'm taller but he's chubbier.
My car is about 125lb heavier and I was also probably carrying extra weight since I had some extra tools, etc.

I would say we were within 100lbs loaded with driver. Far as I know we both used super, and it was from the same station. I think it is your massive front toe out.

I looked at his profile, he had 42 post total, and all were related to MPG.
Can you say Obsessive Compulsive?
When you're that obsessed, you shouldn't buy an RX8 if you're constantly trying to drive in 6th gear on local streets to maximize MPG.
He hasn't been active on the forum since Feb 2004.
I willing to bet he's driving a Prius now.

hey guys, this weekend is the Rout 66. Michelle and I are planning on going Saturday night. if you have never been its pretty cool to check out some of the old muscle cars. let me know if anyone wants to come over and we can all go at the same time.
EDIT: for those of you that dont knwo what it is, they block off a part of San Bernardino (down by the tattoo shop) and a **** load of old cars take over. its free of course to the spectator. they have live music, and vendors trying to sell stuff. if you have never done it, you might want to give it a try. it's cheap entertainment.

Lesper, are you putting a capital letter in front of everyword your self, or is it a setting on your computer?
and sounds great! I am not sure, but I think Keith and Erica might even come. (I dont remember if they were interested or not)
