Once a month meeting near San Bernardino

^^^^I second that. I have heard wonderful things about your car, But I have never had the chance to see it in person. Now I will say it is 21.7 miles from pirate to beryl park. Hopefully there is enough rotor love in here to convince you that is not too far to drive. I believe 'the more the merrier' on runs like this.

ok, you are making it seem like i live in san berdoo.... i drive just as far to get to the meet as you guys! (well, the rancho guys... for those that drive over an hour to come to our meets, i salute you
)same w/ casey, it takes me 20 minutes to get there... and i do understand the people who come from far away, and i really do apriciate the dedication... but like i was saying.... i dont like to change things up too much on such short notice! there are other people who come to these meets, that dont read these forums much... and the way its been is from 9am till 10-10:30am, we are @ pirate city.. then go on a semi-local cruise, then lunch.... every second saturday of the month..... and if plans are changed, they are posted on the forums (both rx7club and rx8club) w/ enough notice for everyone to know about it! id love to do GMR, but i still dont think its the right run to do on such short notice! now i personally think we could have done a december meet (since its usually cancelled) and as casey was saying, do it the first week of december, and do gmr then.... thats more than a months notice to everyone.. i just didnt like how this was handled! there are usually 10 or so cars, and from what i saw, 3 of you set in stone how the next meet was gonna be played out... and left everyone else out of the decision! i obviously think its a bad idea... casey isnt too happy about it either (well, how this was handled at least)... im not pissed off at anyone in general, and i should have spoken up sooner, you guys just didnt think about the whole group in this decision!

ICIC... I didnt know you didnt live in san berdu.
again.. sorry for causing all the trouble. i just suggested GMR like i always do
i see your point though. you, keith and casey are the leaders of this meet. if you see fit, change it. im down for anything.
hate to throw in another 2cents but there is a high chance that GMR wont be open from mt baldy by december.

I drove by the south side of GMR today, and the gate was closed as usual, about a mile north of Sierra Madre.
I vote for the usual meet at Pirate City, and we can decide where to drive from there. If someone wants to start a 'GMR run' meet thread, I'm sure plenty of people will jump on board.

i guess one reason im bent is because i CANT do GMR, because of work... and my cars "legality" ends at the end of november (till i get a smog done, which wont happen till the beginning of the year), so i was looking forward to a cruise w/ the group.... but my car will be parked on december 1st. until she is legal again... so i wanna get all the driving in i can....

well, ill be @ pirate city tomarrow morning, and will have a regular meet... for those that choose to go to GMR tomarrow, have fun and be safe.....
i see if we cant set up a december GMR run for a regular meet, but this wasnt enough notice to use for our november meet... we will be doing a local run for those who are interested.. not sure which one yet, we will get everyones input at the meet as to which one everyone wants to do..
so, if we could possibly change the GMR decision to the december meet, that would be awesome, cause id really like to see everyone at the meet tomarrow... and would really like to go to GMR in december

thats what she said
as long a s it doesnt rain before december, GMR will be opened.
but if it does rain, they will close it for sure
hopefully the people that read the GMR meet will come back to the forums and notice that the GMR DRIVE HAS BEEN CANCELLED AND THE MEET IS GOING TO BE AT PIRATE CITY TATOO --- WHERE THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETS ARE HELD.
even though i wont be there, just lookin' out
have fun guys.

speed, no offense man but this just became a bigger mess. This meet has never broken off to two different runs, makes no sense to start that now.

I choose that we stick to the tradition and all meet at pirate city, then figure out where to go from there. GMR can wait till next month, I want my car to be in perfect condition so I can hit it hard.

2 runs eh.... are you sure? i for one would like to see the whole group travel together. after all... isnt that the whole point? its like jesse said, its apparent a lot of people want to see what GMR is all about. we can do it next month.
i think most people know whats going on here except for zoo tender.
it would seriously suck to have to slit up the meet. the numbers game is half the fun. if i had known suggesting GMR would split up the run this month (seems like a lot of prople are going tomarrow
) i wouldnt have done so.

lol... from what ive seen on the last few meets ive been to, the rx7 guys never know where we are going. they just show up.. and if the run is too far for them, they dont go just like the time before last (i didnt go on the last meet so i dont know what happened lol..).
thats why someone recommended (i think it was keith) for the san berdu guys to meet up as usual then head out to beryl park. the logic is exactly the same except the guys west of pirate city arent meeting there.
as for the argument of you and jesse being local, i dont know where you guys live. and i apologize for the misunderstanding. jesse's post where he explained how the runs got started made it seem like you guys live close. but from what ive seen most the runs we do go north or east. never south (prolly cause there arent any mountains there) or west. weather it was done intentionally or not, it usually is more convenient for those that live further east. GMR is no further then big bear or 138.

i dissagree... yes it is.
from Pirate city hightway 18 is only about 4 miles noth, 330 is about 7 miles, 38 is about 15 miles, 138 is maybe 20 miles if we go the back way, and the 4 miles for 18 if we go the front way. and idlwile is about 30 miles.
GMR is 45 minute drive JUST to get there.
