found this on someones myspace.... this has got to be the coolest thing I have ever seen! wish I was there is person. I know how the 787 sounded in real life, and how crappy in comparison it sounded on a video.

Ahhhhh... nothing says burnt oil and gas reaking up the neighborhood at 8pm like an emmissionsless rx7 that hasn't been started for 3 weeks. Looks like I'm playing hookie to go blow off some steam at GMR tommorrow. Anybody in? Seriously, who wants to call in sick and go to GMR tommorrow. pm me if interested and we can meet up.

cool! where did you tour? was it a west coast tour? we toured one of my dads race cars. It was a south west touring devision, so we/he were still able to have a normal job, just the weekends were always taken. it was a blast! pretty much we mostly ran Vegas (the bull ring), Pheonix (thats the 1 mile track), Irwindale, Willow Springs (the big track), Orange show, El Cajon, and a couple specialty tracks.
yeah we still do the meets, same as before. every second saturday of the month. next one is in Janurary, although we all need to talk about what we are going to do.... the meet falls on the same weekend as the autocross practice that I know a few of us are doing. if only a couple of us are doing the practice then I vote for just having a regular meet like normal, it will just be short a couple people..... no big deal.

figured I would have heard something from you that one day Cesar and I saw you at the storage lot. The car looks good with the MS front.
With the meet, we could always do what we did last time....people went on a cruise and ended at the speedway. We brought lunch down with us and hung out for awhile. Casey, You would need to bring the EZ-UP though so we have a place to hang.

ok, not to bring down the happiness here...
belated thanks for everyone's kind words & condolences. and, likewise, my belated condolences to michael & his family and to all that shared their experiences- keith, kev, jesse, sopheak... it was very strange. i was at the la auto show that morning w/ my co-workers and then my sister called and told me to get home asap, because dad looked like he was getting much worse. and, then all the sudden, nothing at the show mattered anymore- not even the fly girls at the red line booth... (well, ok, sort of, but... LOL. but, i kid, i kid...) but, yah- i miss my dad a lot and wish there was more i could've said and done for him... after this experience i feel each day that we are healthy and able to share time w/ our friends & family is truly a gift. and, i just wanted to say i'm happy to know all of u guys and hope everyone here has a great time with their family & loved ones over the holidays. hope erica, jun, & jesse (and anyone else i forgot to mention) get their cars fixed soon. and, hopefully will see you guys at the next meet.
god bless
p.s. jun> it looks like we'll probably be taking my mom to visit her family over the x-mas break to help cheer her up a bit. but, i definitely would still like to get your help polishing if u have time. maybe we can setup a time to get together early january? (i'll email u w/ my schedule.) also, can't wait to see how your new bumper looks. thanks again.

Gerry, besides your own grief, I found the hardest thing to balance was trying to support my mom through the loss of her husband. I think I was successful in being there to support her, but in turn....I didn't balance the rest of the things in my life and made things worse by failing to make time for myself.
Spent two years supporting my mom, and forgot to make time for myself...and I never really did deal with my dad's passing. I just wanted to provide that insight, because it is something no one else made time to talk about. Remember to support yourself...as well as the others in your life who are going to need support.

Sorry to hear about what happened Gerry. Everything will end up working out somehow. My condolences man.
@ everybody who went to GMR: did anybody see any RX-8 parts up in the mountains somewhere?

So I hope you guys weren't the one fighting tonight, or I guess I should say last night. I heard there was a big fight on Throughbred tonight and a guys yard and major decorations got trashed. How do I know this? The cop that took the damage report for our stuff getting trash tonight told us. Not a nice thing to come home to after a good Christmas party. Oh well, at least they only broke 5 things in our yard.

I think we might have walked passed right after it happened? I remember Kevin mentioning that he surprised there wasn't a fight going on because usually a crowd that size (motioning to the HUGE crowd that had assembled at the corner) is watching a fight. But there didn't seem to be any activity at the moment so we just kept walking.
so wait - that was in front of YOUR house?
