ok everyone. I know most of you didnt know him, but as mentioned above Dave Segalla has died in a car accident. Michelle thought it would be pretty cool to do a memorial drive for dave. everyone on the seven forum is wanting to come. it turns out the best day would be next Saturday which is our meet day. so those of you that are wanting to join in the memorial run are welcome to come out. (bassically it will be one big *** meet) but be warned there really will not be any fast driving. the run will be pretty much speed limit stuff throught hte mountain that he died on. (crestline run)

more details are here http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=619241

Daves screen na,e here and on the seven forum was GuuitarJunkie28. some of you might remember him as being one of the first people to port a RENESIS around here. he is the guy that built Jesses engine, and is the guy that came to help me on my race car a couple of times.

anyways, just wanted to let you all know.

Damn Speed, you beat me to it. I had the honor of chatting with Dave a few times about random things here and there and I will definitely be there for the memorial run. (even if I have to get up at 5 am to wash my car)

R.I.P. Dave, you'll be missed by all.

I posted this on the seven forum.... so these are RX7club screen names.

Just thought it would be nice to see everything in one single post.
HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP .

Fris (lil Red) is accepting donations for Daves family to help with funeral expenses. They can be sent via PayPal here frisili@yahoo.com

Rotorlution (Chris) is accepting donations for flowers and to help Tamara McAdams. They can be sent via PayPal here chris.moore@sage.com

I (speeddemon32 / Casey )am making decals that should have a rotor and something saying RIP Dave Segalla. Any money I receive from them (which will be on a donation basis only) will be given to Daves family (I will be giving it to Fris)

Turbo2FC3S ( sorry I don’t know your name ) is also making decals in his memory. They will have a rotor housing and also say RIP Dave Segalla. Any money that he receives will also be given to Daves family.

Spooledupracing is going to be giving 100% of his profit from Spooled up Racing sales and after this week he will prolly give up to 50% to Daves family

Vipers and I will be hosting a memorial run on Saturday Feb 10th. I will be handing out my decals for a donation at that time. Any decals left over will be given to someone that is willing to help disperse them to the people that could not make it to the cruise or are out of state.

There will be a donation car wash held Sunday Feb 11th at Lucky 7’s shop (lil red’s shop) anyone willing to help is much appreciated!

Man o man…. I love the rotary community!

the address is 3860 Waterman ave. san bernardino, ca 92404

the memorial cruise is pretty much replacing the meet. we are meeting at Pirate City tattoo for the run at 10:30 and leaving at 11:00. we will then head out to the crestline run (highway 18) we will stop at the crash site (or near it if there is a good turn out near by)

sorry for those of you that wanted to come to the meet and go for a fast pace drive, but none of us (well I am only speeking for Jesse and myself) are much in the mood for a fast pace drive at this point.

you are all however welcome to show up at the regular meet time and do a run like normal if enough of you are willing to. I personally would like to you see come out for the cruise instead, but at the same time I understand that a lot of you didnt know this guy and are not up to a slow boring drive.

looks like it will be a good 20 cars or more.

so this thread got quiet..... how is everyone doing?

Not to take this thread off subject, but since this thread is ALWAYS off subject..........
Keith, you think it would be a good idea to start an XBOX thread on the 8 forum? see how many people are on. maybe get some sorta Forza / Call of duty 2 thing going on. would be cool to race with a bunch of RX8club guys.

Speed: that sounds like a heck of an idea. Hell, there's a Gears of War thread that people are always posting on so I don't see why not. (just make sure to put it in the lounge)

There is one already devoted to Forza, a search for Forza will locate that thread. People put their screennames in and they even had some little tournaments a while back. Things have died down in that thread, as will happen when a game becomes old and people move on. I found that thread when I first bought Forza, but the other guys had had the game well over a year...so I felt like I couldn't compete....never did check out their "race days". I think they even had an RX8club car club.

I did start a Forza 2 thread, it started up hot, then cooled down with all the delayed releases for the new game. You could post in their to bring it back to life?

haha, some guy named GT34 made up a Rotory Prayer, thought some of you might get a laugh out of it. (hope I don't offend anyone... hell, I'm Catholic and even I laughed so I think I'm safe)

Rotary Prayer

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The rotary god is my shepherd. I shalt not want 4 stoke
He maketh my car drift, and leadeth me to zoom-zoom
He restoreth my apex seal; he leadeth in the path of auto-cross
Though I race through the pylons in the shadow of death
I will fear no subaru's or nismo, for thou art with me
Thy rotor and thy braping sound comfort me
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my first engines life
And I will dwell in the house of the rotary god for ever

Oh rotary god who art in heaven,
Give us this day our daily rev to 9k
And forgive us for owning piston engines
As we forgive others for buying them
Lead us not into temptaion to use less than 91octane
But deliver us from high mpg's
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen

Hey Peter, thanks for your interest in wanting to join us for a run. This month we'll be doing a memorial run in honor of Dave (guitarjunkie) It won't be a "spirited" drive like we normally do but a slow / easy drive out route 18 where Dave got into his accident. Anyone is welcome to join us.
