I rescheduled Zoom Zoom Live so I can go with you guys on Sunday. I'll call you later Casey.

re: magnets, those numbers (32 and 33) won't be permanent, so I'd say wait until you get a points card and they assign you a permanent number. You could make the surround, and leave the number part blank for now. I've seen some people use a clear plastic pocket, and slide different numbers into it depending on their car number for that day.

I would say that it is similar to the first run I made with the IE group to Big Bear, and maybe even more involved than that. There is no way to duplicate the runs they have in Malibu. It will definately be the hardest you drive your car. We stop several times during the runs, to let the cars cool down, and then again for lunch to cool ourselves. Many have gone once, and have not come back. Don't know why they don't show up again, maybe it was too intense, I don't know.

Snowfl8k did the drive with less than 1000 miles and she doesn't even have the Traction control system. She did, however, have experience with the "course" as she had been my passenger on two prior trips. Driving Malibu can not be explained..it just must be done.

I have done the run 4 times now. It is getting to be old hat now. And about the recall...we all have the same cars. It's not going to keep me from doing another run.

The noise I hear is the little metal piece that surrounds the brake rotor. It tends to "flap" against the rotors on hard turns.

well i went to zoom zoom already due to schedule conflicts. Boy it was hot and the lines were long. I spent 3.5 hours to wait in 4 lines and the food line. maybe 30 min wait. the mx-5 was fast and punchy got a 38sec (very fun) and the 6 and 3 were also nice got a 36.55sec and a 34sec. didnt do the mx-5 ball thing tell me how it goes. enjoy tomorrow.

Just to let you know they shut the lines down at 4:45 tomorrow so you might want to head over there extra early.

Yep - 40.0xx
Wish I was there earlier. I got to do a little more driving, but I really wanted to try the MX-5 on the timed track.

Oh well, the Solo event will make up for it.

Well, I'll butt in here.

Krazie is referring to the ZoomZoomLive event we went to yesterday.
It was only in town for the weekend, and it's gone now.
The cars were not tricked out. They were standard off the lot vehicles. This just gave people a chance to drive them harder than a regular test drive with a dealer.

I think you're confusing the ZoomZoomLive event with the AutoX Events that casey and I were talking about. AutoX is were you take your own car, and race against the clock. We're going to one an Sept 11th, but it's completely full. They fill up about a day or two after registration open. You can stop by and take a ride with one of us to see if it's something you'd like to get involved in. There are several more practice events this year.

spice boy, if you wlike to drive hard (like the rest of us) i would encourage you to go to an auto cross with us. it will teach you how to drive harder then you can on any street, and not to mention when i am done auto crossing, its like letting off some steam. i dont feel the need to drive so fast any more after a day at the track.
