All I can say to you is that I am going throught the same thing, I played it off as a joke in a previous post.. but I am getting a taste of your pain from my shop..{want to cry together. } or go kick some ..... you know what.

My rental car coverage from the insurance company is over and I had to go down to San Diego this weekend. I was planning on getting the banner done so I wouldn't have to bother speeddemon next week and now they've ruined my weekend.

I am tired of all their excuses. I said I didn't want my rim repaired, it didn't even happen in the accident (I curbed it some time before.) Now because of that and them trying to fix it, it's all messed up and they have to keep it til Monday. Wow. I'm fed up. I'm really mad.

It's not fair that they told me it'd be finished LAST week. Then some excuse about the sealant taking longer to apply. Then putting the body back together took an entire week? It should've been finished. Whatever. Now I gotta stick up with this crappy Jetta for another few days out of my own pocket.

Sorry about this post. I didn't know what to do with all this vent up anger.

Casey, any pics to share from our Caliper painting party? Loren, any pics to share?

I want to say thanks again for the help today, Casey for the advice and driveway, and to Meshell for doing the running around, and to Loren for helping out with removing the brakes, taping off, and the company. Now, I feel like I can do my own brakes, and maybe even do a rotor swap. Hmmmm,, more mods.

here are some.

EDIT:
for those of you wondering what the last picture is for...... We were installing the new hyper white fog lights, and last time when i was playing with the bumper i was trying to install the knock off fiberglass body kit that i got. anyways i wound up scratching my head lights, so this time i taped up the lights to protect them, and Michlle thought it would be "cute" to add some eye lashes, and a smily face.

:p

Casey, do you need 3mm apex seals for your motor? I have an xtra set, brand new. I didnt use them because I went with 3mm ceramic seals in my motor.

looks like the hawtt caliper-painting-party was a success!

they're looking good.

well done ya'll

I just have one question well... two..... did you take the calipers off of the rotors to paint them, or did you leave them on and paint them.

how long did it take to dry?

I can do better, here is an email I sent them>>>>>>> {On September 16th I left my car at your business to get work done. I was promised my car back on the 23rd of September. I was not called concerning the status on my car and still have not gotten my car.

Over the last week I have been trying to get a hold of someone from your Business concerning my car, I called several times leaving voice mails on the business phone [760-962-9966] but no one returned my call. I also called 760-403-0355 and still my call was not returned. Is this how your business is run? What really bothers me is the fact that it's is a known that I am on a deadline.

I was again was promised my car on Saturday as to yet I have not received a phone call about the status. I drove by to talk to someone during posted business hours of 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, however, the business was closed..{Still No Phone Call}

I have other places I need to take my car to get other things done to it before Oct 7. <<<<now this part was to make them feal bad>>>>I have started to advertise your business in the car club I belong to has nearly 50 RX-8's and the owners are always looking for places to get work done. with the way I am being treated how can I advertise a business if I have no car on which to advertise?

Can someone please call me to let me know what is going on and when my car will be ready?

Thank you

Black would look clean - but not very noticable. The blue is a little dark against the white but might pop out a little better. I personally am planning on painting them white. Casey knows of a place in San Bernardino that carries white caliper paint.....pm him if you are interested....

I just have one question well... two..... did you take the calipers off of the rotors to paint them, or did you leave them on and paint them.

how long did it take to dry?
We took the brake pads out and loosly reattached the calipers to the brackets....covered the area with paper and sprayed away. The paint said 30-45 minutes to dry to the touch, and fully dry over night. We basically did one side at a time, stopping to talk and relax. We reassembled the pads back into the calipers, tightened things back down and put the wheels back on. Drove home after about an hour or so, then left the car in the garage over night to finish drying. Wanted to wash my car to gte some of the oevrspray I know got on the car, but Casey suggested waiting as to not get any water on the freshly painted calipers. I hope to have time to do a quick wash tomorrow after work.

Just a suggestion...please use caliper paint, as it has a chemical protectant in it that header and engine paint do not...this means that your paint may come off if you choose to use engine or header paint....

That's a sick list of mods.
I'm pretty sure you got us all beat for SevenStock.
I didn't notice a Supercharger or Turbo on the list. Any plans for that?

We're a little far. From San Diego to where we meet it's about 100miles. It'd be cool if you could make it, but that's a lot of driving.

If you're interested in going to a Rotary Meet, don't miss SevenStock8 in Irvine. It's closer, and a little bigger than our regular meets.
