well everyone, i just wanted to let you all know that the car SEEMS to be running like it should!!!!!! the new MSD coils did the trick! set the limiter to 7,000 and it does 7,000 set it for 8, and it does 8, set it for 9 and it does 9,000!!!!

this was a VERY jerry riged wireing job (meshell. kwescott, Spice Boy, you know what i am talking about)

tomorrow we will be wiring it up the correct way.

just wanted to give you all an update. after that is done i might take it up the street to see how she does under a load.

the only thing i noticed is that the 2 step does not work at lower RPM's. I am thinking this is due to the no 2 step on the trailings. not that big of a deal though!

well if you come over when we are working on it, then you will hear it then. OR IF i get it fully functional in time for the next race, you can come see me in Palmdale on Nov 12-13.

today we are going to try to install the MSD the correct way. (not so jerry rigged) and the battery box is being made by schideker fabrications right now. there are still a few things that need to be done, but if all goes well then we SHOULD be at Palmdale for the last race of the year.

Man i wish we could have went to the Pomona races, its so much bigger there. all well, ill take what i can get at this point!

you figure out where you are going to mount the MSD controllers....next to the switches, or in the rear next to the battery, or inside the engine compartment?

It's just one MSD, its going to be inside with me. the Other MSD will not work it is for a Distributor less ignition system. there is no trigger wires for a magnetic pickup.

so the trailing is going to have to stay stock for now.

..... well i am off to the parts store to buy some electrical connectors.

Is it just me, or is the next meet taking forever!?!?!?!? man, it seems like it is never going to get here.

....... crap, I just realized, IF the car is racable by Palmdale, this will mean i will not be at the San Bernardino meet. Crap! it's been forever since the last meet! (although the last meet was freakin huge!)

today we got the MSD wired in, the MSD is sitting right next to me on the back wall. (if there was a passanger seat, it would be behind it.) it turned out pretty good. I will take a picture or two. It's a nice way to show off the big bad MSD.

Just an FYI, the Trims R Us site now has their samples page back, but samples are no longer free. $5.00 for four samples. I've ordered a set (Real Carbon Fiber, Black, White and Silver Carbon Fiber). If I have them by our next meet, I will bring them so you can check them out. If anyone else in interested in getting samples...maybe someone could add the red/black carbon to their list if you only have three that you are interested in.

didn't feel like reading through all 113pgs. of this thread :p. i'm a 9 baller myself, and would actually like to attend these meets you guys have. though from what i understand from the first post, the next meet is happening on Nov. 12th around 9am right? i wouldn't be able to get there at that time because i have work . if it weren't for work, i'd be there at every meet basically. sounds like it would be alot of fun to hang out w/a bunch of you guys.

of course you ALL can...... but it's starting to look like ONCE AGAIN i will not make it to Palmdale. the dame car is running crapy again, and it has a MAJOR oil leak. I mean within about 60 seconds of running there is a huge puddle under the car!

I am so sick of this car! I take one step forward, and I take 3 steps back.

I drove it up the street and if i had to guess its time, i would say it is a 20 second car. It SEEMS like it is doing the same thing, not reving smooth and clean like it should..... Problem is now with this huge oil leak i can not test it untill it is fixed.

anyone interested is buying a second gen race car, that isnt so much a race car. it's more likw a paper weight. sure does look pretty in the garage. the neighborhood kids will think you have a fast car just by the way it looks and sounds.

Ah, the 12th...I was counting this most recent weekend as the first of November...damn, two more weeks.

This makes this coming weekend a little easier though...I was thinking I had this meet on the 5th, and the Malibu meet on the 6th...lot of driving. Now, it is much more manageable.

Xrider01, interested in going with a bunch of guys to Malibu this Sunday? Looks like it is going to be a big meet. Speeddemon, get out of the garage and come with us this weekend. Looks like you just need some time away from that oil spirting beast. If you don't think it is likely that you will make it for Palmdale, save you money and energy for next race season. This way, you can spread out the financial/time burdon a little more.

I hope the oil leak has nothing to do with the new engine....?

well, i guess i should say that i work both saturdays and sundays . It's not that i don't have any days off cuz i do, they're just in the middle of the week (tuesdays and thursdays). and i have them off because of school...but school can be an "option" . If the meet were like saturday nights at around 8pm, then i would definatley be able to go as i would be off work by that time.

in another thread, some guys are wanting to make another meet, but it's out by LAX.....kinda far, but from what they're trying to plan, it would better fit my schedule.

I used to hang out with some of those wanting to start the LAX meet. We used to meet bimonthly in Cerritos and then went down to eat at In N Out. Young group of guys. It became too much to hang out twice a month, so I stopped showing up as often. And then everyone else started doing the same thing and the meet fizzled out...especially after the thread leader traded in his 8 for a motorcycle.

The LAX thing may be something you do just a couple of times. It is mostly just a meet and greet. I got tired of those after awhile, since you would end up seeing the same guys. I initially went to check out modifications, but most of the ones the guys had were audio and exhausts.

I guess it depends on why you want to go...if you just want to hang out, then you'll be happy. If you want to go on a drive, then you will most likely be dissapointed. Good luck, and hope to see you at one of the upcoming events.
