Phoenix area car washes/detailers
So what car washes or detailers do the phoenix people use if any? I ask because I had some tire problems (car wash broke two of my tpms units) when I took my 8 through one of the washes, specifically lindstroms at 30st and thomas.

Hello AZBen. First, I'm going to tell you something you already know. Anytime you trust the care of you beloved 8 to another, you risk damage There are lots of stories like your where a short-cut ended up costing much more than the car wash bill.
Having said that, I do my own but I use a do it yourself car wash bay. From start to finish including any polishing or interior cleaning, I stay *in* the bay. There's less dust etc to get trapped under my rags/towels if I stay in there while I'm doing my work.
Having said that, there are detailing companies you can go to. I would not suggest anything that's so-called 'brushless' because they're still rags that have washed hundreds of cars before yours goes through, and who knows what kind of dirt and other particles are trapped in that material, grinding into your paint! And just what kind of soap are they using anyway? My Mazda service folks always give you a free car wash after servicing your vehicle. They are under very strict orders to not wash my car. I tell them every time I drop her off and leave her to their care - do not wash my car .
Touchless is another option you still have issues of ground clearance, and you risk damage to low profile tires & expensive wheels on those contraptions that pull your car through. So unless you're going to use a detail service that does everything 100% by hand, with hoses and fresh never-used sponges & 100% clean cotton towels WHILE YOU WATCH, you may as well just do it yourself.
I received a very classy Invitaion for a detailing service on my car while parked in a parking lot 2 weekends ago in north Phoenix at Desert Ridge. I will definitely tell you this invitation is unique and looks high profile. Heck, I was glad I had just detailed my car the day before :D . They claim 20 years of delivering high-end mobile washing and detailing services here in the valley, 24/7. His name is Evan Kirk of Distinctly Different Mobile Detail. 1-800-503-3560. It is very possible I will give them a shot with my 8. If you do call them, please mention how you got wind of their service. There is a hand written number on the corner of this inivitation and it says 610; they may find that tidbit of information valuable should you choose to use them.
