Re: vivid

Are you kidding me? It's not even a contest.

Car upgrades ALL the way!! Unless you've got a dog, who needs a yard! :D

I don't care what any magazine test says. There's the Valentine and there's everything else. The V1 is two distinct detectors in one box, allowing signal comparison to determine the direction of the radar gun. That extra information is well worth the extra $. Remember, Mike Valentine left Escort because they started getting into cordless phones and such.

Radar Detectors

Oh, I know all about Mike Valentine and Escort. I still have the original Escort I bought way back when, when he invented that one, replacing my Fuzzbuster.

I probably would have bought mine with the articles, but thay helped clinch it. I bought my V1 before the band signaling display, and they upgraded it for the $75.00 charge. Truth is, by then I needed a new cord, and it's jack was starting to slip - they fixed all that too, in the upgrade, for the flat $75.00 fee.

It was worth the original purchase price and the upgrade price. It has alerted me well in advance, innumerable times. Like today, I was commuting on the 51 late morning, tooling up and down 'tween 80 and more, and braaaap comes at Glendale, patrol car was Coulter. On the way home, braaaap comes on entry at Bethany Home, officer with handheld was roadside in the Draw.

Both times, someone else was pulled over. That's a win-win for me!

Well, I didn't really post my comments for you. :p

Others might not have known, though. I drive the 8 so conservatively that I'm comfortable with my old original Passport (got it to replace the Escort when I bought my GSL-SE in 1985). It's smaller and less attractive to thieves. I wouldn't go more than a mile in an FD without a V-1.
