Princeville Kauai, for real?
Vacationing in Princeville, Kauai this month, (every year at this time) from SD and missing my winning blue 8, and was shocked to see a red 8 in the parking lot of Pali Ke Kua condos where we stay. I had the keys to the unit, so the rest of the group flipped when I wanted to stay and write a note. Anyone that posts here?
The sighting was extra surprising because in the previous 12 trips, I had seen maybe one first gen RX7 and one 2gen. I didn't even know that there's a Mazda dealer on the island. Anyone?

Saw the guy on the road again today near Haena. Since he hasn't replied, he must not post here. Also saw a TiGray in Kapa'a the other day. That's more than I've seen in my hometown north of San Diego.
And, uh, December's going to be real wet up here in Princeville, Bro. Better than Ohio, and the surf will be running huge and spectacular. But you'd be better off on the south side of the island at that time of year.

Glad to see there are 8's in Kauai. I remember seeing exotic rental places last time I was there, maybe 4-5 years ago, where you could rent vipers and such. Maybe they were rented from a place like that.

Nope - not from there. Their idea of what constitutes an "exotic" has slipped from the level of a Corvette or a Chrysler/Plymouth Prowler a few years ago to a Jeep or a Harley currently.
We stay on the north shore and make the drive from Princeville to Haena frequently. Iit would sure be fun to have my 8 on that stretch of road. That's where I saw the dude the second time in the VR 8 and I was frankly envious.

I may have spoken too soon about the paucity of interesting rentals available on the island. Last week, I did see a Viper going the other direction on Highway 56 north of Kapa'a. Didn't see if it had anybody's rent-an-exotic sticker on it, or whether it was just Stallone driving up to his place on Anini Beach.
It's all subjective, of course, but the most fun roads on Kauai are narrow, low speed, and with tight corners. Much more friendly to a light, nimble car with adequate power, a close-ratio gearbox, excellent brakes and a chassis that helps you when you're over your head (the 8 obviously), than a pavement-shredder like the Viper. But that's me.
