Recommend roads in Santa Monica Mountains?
I'd like to possibly take a drive this Sunday morning.
Can anyone recommend specific road or roads to take for some "fun" driving?
Something around the Calabasas into the Malibu area would be great. Thanks.

Mulholand is awesome.....I see it has 5 stars on that site. Ive yet to do the whole of Mulholland but just yesterday I took it from topanga canyon to las virgines and back. Not particularly far but damn it was the most fun ive had all week. Perfect curves for the 8.

My plan is to head up PCH, right on Kanan up the hill, a right on Latiago Canyon Road back to PCH. After that I'll either do that "lap" again or head south on PCH, make a left on Las Virgenes north, hit Piuma Canyon to Las Flores and then back to PCH.
I plan to roll no later than 8:00 a.m. I hope that's early enough.
IF ANYONE WANTS TO JOIN ME, POST ASAP OR SEND ME A P.M. :D

I like to take Topanga canyon road from Ventura blvd to pacific coast highway. Nice twisties and at about half way there is a little restaurant you can stop by to get a refreshing drink before zoom-zooming toward PCH.

Holy sh*t !
Just got back from my little drive this morning.
I went north on PCH until Kanan and made a right up the hill. Not a bad drive, smooth payment and NO other cars.
I then made a right on Latiago Canyon Road and I'm hear to tell you, it was nothing what I expected.
The only way to describe this drive was it reminded me of autocross. Barely any time on straight-aways; all turns and curves.
It shocked the hell out of me. I can't imagine flying through there. It is crazy cruvy and VERY narrow.
The drive is hard on the brakes if you really want to have some fun. I pretty much had my auto in 2nd the whole time, ever so often I could shift into 3rd but is was generally right back into 2nd and sometimes to 1st. I want to say I averaged around 40-45 mph for the drive. Some corners I would only be going 20 and one straight-away I hit 53. However, to be honest, I was ALWAYS looking at the road; you don't have time to look down at your speedo - or at least you shouldn't be.
It WAS a great drive. What I would recommend is the first time driving it, TAKE YOU TIME. Secondly, go as early as you can to avoid cars, bicyclists, people. Finally, watch out for the cyclists (the wannabe Lance Armstrongs). You'll come around a blind curve and WHAM! they'll be right in front of you. I hope to God that one on ever falls on a bike on that road, you run the risk of getting run over; the corners are that blind.
I did have some cyclists but they were cool. They would wave me by when there was a chance.
