Well, I will be competing to see where I'm at with the other rookies. This will be my first/last race with the car in stock form, power wise with the exception of my cat-back and a K&N filter.

Button Willow, ROUND 1

OK. There were 3 of us there. Please chime in you other 2 guys. The other blue RX8 did really good, he had some track tires on. The black RX8 got like a 2.11 I think with those Dunlop Star speed/spec tires. The black car also had some nice volks. I hope you other two guys chime in and give your Info.

I started out with a 2.20 on some 235/45/17 Falken 912's. Tires squealing around every turn. I had toooooooo much tire preasure. Around 46psi hot. I took it down to 39psi and did a 2.16. I took it down to 37psi hot and My final time for the day was a 2.13. Not bad for the tires. I wonder how I'd do on those Dunlops Star spec........

I had the Rotary Extreme dual cat back, BHR coil kit (freaking flawless, never skipped a beat and never felt a loss of power), kn air filter, tein H-tech and progress anti-sway bars.

Alot of poeple were using those Dunlops and it looks like the tire is the shizznizle.

I talked to a guy with a civic Si (the new one) and he had my tires before. He said that when he switched from the Falkens to the Dunlops he gained 5 sec. Now I'm sure he's better from practice, but 5 seconds is alot. TIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My next investment will be some koni yellow shocks because my stock front shock are leaking now and those Dunlops. Hopefully I'll get this stuff before the willow springs event, I'll be good to go!!!!

I have a video of me chasing down a 350z, I'll post it as soon as I can get some video editing software.

Ben

Atom, they moved the event to april 10th!!!!!!

They also listed our times at a 2.12 for you and a 2.14 for me. But my wife and son clearly heard them say 2.11 somthing as you passed by and 2.13 somthing as I passed by.

I need those freakin Dunlops so I can turn off the DSC. I need the DSC on for the Falken 912's...lol

shadycrew31, don't wait, get the experinece now, then in 2010 you'll be that much more ready. I'm just getting me feet wet and learning the car. I plan to have the car s/c for 2010 season. But if I can't get my handles down, the power will be useless!!!!!!

Atom just has anti sway bars and rays rims with dunlop star-spec, he ran a 2.12 according to the final times, thats alot faster then some modded cars. Suspension and tires is where you'll pick up the most time.

I've ran against a few stock 8's in the straight and beat them, but you see Atom's time was 2 sec faster with more track time and better tires.

SUSPENSION and TIRES first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well, my 2:11 was in practice/qualifying, i did a 2:12 in the first time attack, aand i have no idea what time in the second, they never posted them. i thought i did pretty well, but like i said, was just tired.. almost didnt care any more. i dont consider time attack very serious, since it seems to be all about car upgrades, rather than driver upgrades... ;-)
