To me, it sounds like everyone that has been ticketed so far have admitted to speeding. They just don't like the fact that they got ticketed for a few miles more than they were going.

My 8 is red. My previous two Jeep Cherokees were red. My old RX-7 was black. I don't do the speedlimit, I am always at least 5 if not 10 miles over the speedlimit....and I don't get tickets. I don't have a front plate and next to my rear plate are two bullet hole decals. My K & N cold tube puts out 107 db when punched so I'm not quite either.

I have a very basic rule of thumb that I live by on the road. If I'm going to speed, I turn my stereo off and I start paying attention to freeway on ramps, the cars in front and behind me and whats in the air. In other words, if you are going to break the law, you better start paying attention to where "they" are. Oh yeah, and get a radar/laser detector. Those that don't, your just asking for a ticket.

And for tailgating, I'd have thought by now you'd know enough to not do it. Or, at least back off when you see a cop. Sheesh.

I'm in the city of angels too. I love it and the cops tend to leave me alone. It helps if you flash some leg. Unless its hairy. :p

lol cool...unfortunately im not a hot babe so i dont think flashing some leg will get me anywhere too fast :\

Flashing leg is 60's style. Nowadays you need to flash more than that.

Better post a pic here though first so we can approve it.

I'm not sure about the bright colour thing. I've heard the names - "ticket me red" and "pull me over yellow". However, I drove a red Porsche Turbo around the Bay Area for a number of years and was never even once pulled over and I didn't have a front plate either. I also didn't drive like a granny.

Just to help some of you along, you might print this and carry it in your door panel.

1. I can't reach my license unless you hold my beer. (OK in Texas)

2. Sorry, Officer, I didn't realize my radar detector wasn't plugged in.

Got pulled over for the first time in my 8 this morning, wasn't speeding, wasn't doing anything to attract attention. NO FRONT PLATE. I thought he was just looking at my beautiful car but I guess he was noting I didn't have a plate. He didn't even say I had a nice car.

I can't complain, I speed like crazy in that area and I would rather have a $10 fix it than a $300 speeding ticket.

Interesting note: He said "there are 46 intersections in SF with cameras that take pictures of the FRONT license plate" another reason not to keep it re-installed.

Any volunteers if I have trouble figuring out how to hook it back on? :D
