ok so about a week ago i was in mills and i saw a nice *** wwp. so i walked by checked it out and the driver was walking to it. (white army guy) introduced myself told him he had a nice car and that he should think about lowering it. (he already has wheels...they looked like a ricer brand)

anways, i shot the **** with him for about 20 and learned he knows nothing about rotarys. so i told him to get on rx8club and to ask questions. he replies "no sorry i dont like car clubs" i then told him it was a forum online for all over the world. "oh okay, do they sell stuff like bodykits and intakes?"

i reply "yes they have vendors on there"

well my next few words were like okay im going into town right now so ill see you online.

(now i have really good hearing and i head him tell his friend "he knows nothing about mazdas. like im gonna get on some ricer club"




today: i was in kaneohe on base. there was a black rx8 with a marine and his girl. i walk up next to the other car hes parked to and say "nice car! whats your plans?"

he replies "nothing"

"ok...you should drop your car"

he replies "whatever"



WTF is up with these ****...sometimes i hate people that are in the military. i use to live here before i joined the navy. i couldnt stand tourists or military. do they think they are badass's all the time. cause i sure as hell dont. i fly on a 4 prop plane and drop bombs...by no means am i a badass because of my job.

whats the deal? are there any cool people out there with rx8s on oahu?

Maybe you shouldn't offer advice or tell others what you think they should do. Just let them be, not every rx8 owner on the road wants to modify their car.

on the other hand, most of the time when i chat people up about their cars people tend to be pretty friendly. military guys nowadays, unfortunately, are not exactly the kind i expect to be full of charm and friendliness. i'd leave them alone

LOL I had an incident similar to this only worse...

I was at a Home Depot and saw an RX-8 in the parking lot. Pretty nice looking VR with some rims. I went to go put a tag card on the windshield for our local Mazda club. Right as I touched the windshield wiper to put the card under this guy comes up behind me and yells, "Don't touch my car, *******!"

I turn around, stunned, and try to explain I was just putting a tag card on his car for our Mazda club. He yells again "Get away from the car!" I was still about 5ft from him at this point. So I just flicked the card and walked away, no need to let that douchenozzle in our club LOL

Dude its the same **** in Vegas. Just a hand few are cool. I meet so many people that have 8s that dont give a **** about there car or dont know whats under the hood. Its a six speed so they bought it. Good luck finding some chill peeps.

haha thanks. yah im on forumshawaii also and i think i see a few people i use to go to the solo events with. but none of them have 8's just miatas and 7's but there chill people

I grew up in Hawaii and I too am a Haole but what does them being in the military have to do with anything? I grew up in Kahaluu and I met tons of dipshit locals growing up who gave me **** just because I was Haole. There are ****** in all walks of life. Maybe you just come off wrong to people.

+ 1 ... my ex husband (a haole) was raised in Honolulu. He said the same things about the locals ... all the haoles have to go to private schools or you will be beat up, etc. Nice place. Not sure about why the military guys there would have such an attitude...

Well I lived in a somewhat rough area but I fought my way through elementary and my rep and friends kept me pretty safe through middle school but some of the other haoles were not so lucky. My best friend was a black Haole and he and I threw down a many times with other locals at "the bus" stop, haha. I loved it and miss it deary though.

when i meet new people or introduce myself i give them the most upmost respect possible until they do something that makes them not deserve it.

yes, im a haole. but i grew up here also. i have more local friends than military friends. i am also in the military and proud to be. im not bashing against all military. it just so happens that the people that i introduced my self to were...and they were bitches
