LOL!
Kane- are you in the army?
If so you must be part of the Army Corps of Engineers, correct? Because as far as I know, the only divers that the army has are Engineers?

Zumn is right; I am in the Army and I am technically in the Corps of Engineers.
We all go to the same schools though, so I know a bunch of Navy guys, Recon Boys, AF Divers and SF guys.
I actually ended up with a cool shirt last time I was in PC; it has every unit that trains there's badge... when I wear it people seem genuinely confused.... haha

(to the op) I'd look at you and then noticed how nearly stock your car was and I'd shame my head and walk away.

https://www.rx8club.com/groups/rx-8s-hawaii-77/ this is the link to the Hawaii RX8 social group...there must be more RX8 owners in Hawaii than 3??!!
i suggest that you might want to just say "nice car" next time... don't want to stereotype the military folk, but the "locals" (born and raised in the islands) are way more receptive to "talk story" about their cool rides!
i live on the big island of Hawaii...i'm a old chick (47 going on 24 lol! i wish!)...wish i had money to modify my '04 RX8, but maintenance costs way too much...ethanol gas sucks the life out of my engine...only one gas station in Kona sells non ethanol gas on the entire island...i love driving my car especially on the saddle road...
love my car! have a happy day!

I thought the stock suspension handled better than most after markets? Why spend money just to have it dropped and have a rougher ride. In Hawaii you will end up ruining your car due to all the roads filled with pot holes.

On behalf of cool military guys everywhere, I'd like to apologize for these two knuckle heads, we're not all jerks, I swear. I don't think I'm a badass, and I love getting advice from people.
On the flip side of things, I've *HEARD* that hawaii locals are not friendly and that I should watch my back when I'm over there. Weather that's true or not I couldn't say, I'm sure it's no different than any other place with bad apples and good apples.
Also, my brother hated Hawaii when he was a marine stationed there. Maybe it was because a dog took a chunk out of his leg in Hawaii, I don't know.
EDIT: wow. seriously? This thread is 3 years old -_-

I have less issues with the locals then I do the military here...Seems like some *ahem*most* of the military let it get to their heads that they where a uniform...just cause I don't wear mine doesn't mean I won't beat your a$$ like a local would. =)

once you start offering suggestions you have to accept that many people will not want your advice unless they ask for it. the OPs attitude here tells me a different story, not everyone wants a hellaflush car or even dropped at all.
and that is why some people avoid "clubs", because they don't want people telling them what they should or shouldn't do with their car. if i wanted to be preached to i would go to church.
