Cool

who cares how many MPG/MKH it does, it's the fittest ride you gonna get in ages and it rocks, so stop complaining and enjoy - you will get used to it and never look back. i used to think that i couldn't afford to run it etc but believe me for the beauty of the ride you make exceptions, otherwise drive a much inferior car but who wants to do that

You are right, one who drives an Rx8 is one who shouldn't care about MPGS.

If I can get 300 out of the tank though I'll be happy, but i guess that means no hard revving, no launching, no canyon running . . . no racing lol...

There are cars out there however that I don't think are inferior.

a 1st Gen Mr2 Supecharged gets maybe 25 mpg, and it does 0-60 in under 6.5 seconds. Specially if you add a bigger fuel pump to it ;D I can beat an RX8 with an SC if the guy is sleeping, when I had my maxima i used to walk on RX8's.

But the RX8 has way better handling than my maxima, it looks better and well it's a rotary, sports car with 50/50 weight distribution :D

The MR2 Spyder was ill, 140 HP with 35mpg, but dang I actually loved how it handled in tight *** corners compared to the 8...

The 8 is GREAT don't get me wrong, but I am confident me driving an MRS and Me driving an RX8 I'd pull away in the corners in the MRS.. Specially since I used to pull hard on 240 HP s2000s

but you guys are a different story, you guys are way more experienced with the 8 than I am, so that would be a good run...

What have you guys done to improve handling, i have so much body roll that in high speed cornering the 8 just wants to slip out . . . ;|

I LOVE THE CAR, Dont get mne wrong, I have been wanting it since it's inception in '04 . . . I'm just trying to get an image of what to expect :D

Even though the mpgs suk and maintanace is gon' be a hassle i dont care cuz i love the car, it does me well....

Do i have standard or sport suspenion? I don't have the Grand touring, but it's a 6 speed....

^Yes the 8 cost money to own, yes you are gonna empty your wallet into it, and yes the car is an addiction. If you think all those POS's have **** on the 8, then you are sorely miss led my good sir. The 8 has a 50/50 gravity distribution and is meant for circuit racing. Get the right mods and learn to drive it and you will see what I am saying. On a final note, like the gentleman said a few posts back, quit comparing the 8 to your old rides. You obv do not know enough about the 8 to make intelligent comparisons. And on a final note, if you want a car that gets gas mileage, get a honda. 240 hp from 1.3L comes from somewhere. I'll leave the mystery up to you.

Don't get to defensive man, just cuz it's a rotary with 50/50 don't make it the ISH.. But i did purchase it bercause its a car in a class of its own..

Im just pointing out that there are other benefits to oehr cars, having the engine in the rea is A HUGE benefit in case you never driven a car like that, the control you have is just SUPERB.. but i am very impressed witht he 8's handling, it wants to oversteer most of the time when traction control is off which i don't mind, as long as i don't deal witht he understeering and braking when it is on....

1.3L 232 hp.. mazda clarified that it is not 239 or 240 it is 232HP

the s200 itself is a 2.0 L!!! with 240 HP it
s rated one of the best hp/liter engines in the world..

but, the 8 is amazing, i lvoe it, i have no complains, since i got into this hobby of canyon running ON THE DAILY, i knew it was an expensive hobby and i don't mind throwing money into it, i'm just trying to weigh out the good and the bad/...

im happy with my purchase, just wish i wasn't financing it so i could throw that cash into upgrades and maintanance :D

^Ok then. Try selling one of your other rides and then you'll have some dough.

And for handling, which you were asking about before. There are plenty of suspension upgrade kits, strut bars, etc.. that you can get to improve the 8's handling.

One guy at work was bragging his Ram truck got 14 on a long drive across Nebraska; the best he ever had. How would you like that mpg? Let's see. a 500mile trip at 14mpg = 35.7 gal. or almost $90. Now an 8 at 20 mpg for the same trip gives you 25 gallons or $63. Why would anyone pay an extra $30 to pilot that ship when he could take an 8 for .7 the cost??
