Sacramento dealerships (electrical work)

Hello all

i did search and found a thread from 05 asking about dealerships so i said what the hell and decided to make another

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...amento+dealers

Anywho...

I am beginning to form ideas for a road trip this summer to some relatives in tahoe and sacramento and am tempted to purchase a satellite radio kit before i leave. I am comfortable doing many things on my car, however, taking apart the head unit is not one of them. So my question is, does anyone have experience with getting some work done that would involve something similar to what i want dont. Yes i know its a long shot but i figured i would ask anyways.

TIA,

Matt

Oem through the head unit so i have full functiality (sp? lol) of the oem controls and steering wheel controls.

I trust the hooker out back more then i trust the 2 mazda dealerships in my state so i figured if i do this road trip, i should take advantage of an actual mazda dealer.

Since you know where your final destination is on your road trip, try giving all the dealerships on the way calls and see what they say (I take it you are looking for a dealership to do it; but you don't trust any local ones to do it for either you think they will rip you off and/or do a shitty job)

amen! lol

Problem is the only notable cities on the way are...

billings MT - heard bad things

Pocatello idaho - do they even believe in cars???

possibly carson city/reno - possibility i suppose

other then that its prairie roads, followed by mountain roads, followed by desert, followed by more mountain roads lol.

Looks like someone needs to get on the teley and start making some calls and searching the interwebz for reviews Then again, another option is to find a good performance shop. If you find a good one, I find that they tend to do better work than the dealership; since they are in competition with all stealerships after all.

If you can pull the headunit yourself, you can install the factory sirius. It's not very difficult. Like plug & play. Just follow the instructions. How much the dealer wants to charge for install?
