I think so, it'll let me get outta there earlier... but I saw that a new guy that ran with us in Atwater is signed up for BS, and it might be good to give him some company.

Anyone interested in some indoor karting after the autox? http://www.racep2r.com/

STU high flow cat
BSP-SM you can run no cat, test pipe high flow whatever you want. Don't waste your money on a "high flow". Go with the test pipe or just run the stock one.

I would guess like Toca's car... He does not have a cat.

If I run it will be BSP so I don't have to stay all day. Not sure if I will run, just did 15 runs on Sun with the Porsche club so I may skip it.

Cool, scared of the Fontana peeps and their fancy flywheels eh?

FYI, looks like SCNAX is planning a couple of practice days at El Toro in late June with a 90+ sec course. Right in your backyard...

No way, did you get a used one or something? Too bad you're too far away to change my tires for me... need to do it this weekend as a matter of fact.

I have my own tire changer as well. His name is Julio and he works at Discount Tire.

I was looking at the high flow cat as an option for me and Casey, given that these are our daily drivers. As for me, I don't like the smell of gas that the catless cars have, nor the enormous fireballs that shoot from the exhaust, the CEL's, the chance of getting a hefty ticket for having no CAT, and so on. A hi flow cat would provide some gains, some sound, without the hassles that Catless, or midpipe create. I think I started to think about this after seeing the stock CAT, and seeing how heavy it was.

Thanks for the info on the class restrictions though, you are always very helpful with this.

As for SM, do you have a feeling that people in BSP are going to push me that way...given the body kit? I could always live with being DQ'd each event, just so I can race amongst the other 8's.....or, change my body kit all the time (which would be a pain). I'm not racing for points, just trying to have as much fun as possible. Waiting around all day, as you know, is a pain.

Hope to see you all this Sunday. BSP is 2nd work group, 4th run group. Done before lunch.

I have a Discount tire that will change mine for free, just tired of having to drive up there and wait. Now I can do them when I need them not when they have time.

The high flow cat is a waste of money, maybe 3-5hp at the wheels. Spend the money on something that will make a real difference, flywheel, big wheels/tires, race seats to drop weight, etc. However if you guys do get high flow cats I will give you $20 for your stock one. btw it is only like 4 bolts to put in a test pipe for race weekends and go back to stock for mon-fri.

The BSP guys do not have to bitch about you, the event chair or anyone in any class can. You guys should both run SM because both your cars are not BSP legal anyway.

well mine is just a simple wing removal.... 4 little bolts. i am more then willing to remove 4 little bolts to stay in BSP.

infact removing 5 ehaust bolts for a test pipe is not a bad idea.

I agree with pulling the wing...much better than getting your kicked by raced out cars. No joke, should we pull off the wings Casey?

A test pipe....You would be fricken loud, but.....remember that stubborn exhaust bolt....you wanna f with that over and over again...ugh.

Ok, we have to be serious here about the spending of money. Tires is one thing...but to start spending money on parts that are to be used once a month doesn't seem like a good use of money Casey.

Hi Flow Cat is better in my book. This is where my money would go...if, in fact, I had more money. After tires and flywheel, I know I am done for quite some time. Lets just enjoy what we got at this point.

Easy to do... While you have the car in the air to change the tires just swap out the cat. Maybe takes an extra five minutes and would get you twice the power of a "high flow cat".

keith, I didnt say I was going to get one..... just a good idea is all.

seriously, now that I have the flywheel and pulleys, (pulleys should be here today right?) i think my next upgrade will just have to be wheels and tires. it's going to be a while, but that in my eyes will make the biggest differance.

245's to 285's
~23 pound wheel - 17 pond wheel.

........ oh yeah!

The part you are missing is that the high flow cat is a joke. You will never see that mod pay off at an autox. Go dyno your car before and after with no other mods and you MIGHT see 3hp, that will not even translate into any time on course. A good alignent, better bushings, less weight are just a few things that will make more difference than a cat.
Also a test pipe cost way less than a cat.

Keep in mind you are going from a 23lb tire to a 25lb tire and the weight on the outside makes more difference than the weight on the inside. The width is what gets you the grip.
