jessie, just a quick question....are you worried about drawing more attention to the car by putting all that advertisements about tuning technologies on the car?

...and no Bioshock at the meet

tire opinion / question

(protege5)
OK here are pictures of my drivers side front tire. as you can see the inside corner of the tires is cupping(?) this has only occured on this tire. all tires including this tire were the correct PSI except for the right rear which was very low. i went ahead and put this tire on the drivers side rear and i think it should be fine since those tires are ridig flat as apposed to the front that rotate. any idea why this has happened. when it gets lower i think i will change it out but i think it is ok for now? oh and the location where the treat is showing through is the only location (about 1").

what are your thoughts?

Wow, no kidding. I have no idea why this is happening. My only suggestion would be to keep at least a foot distance in between you and the curb while driving.

Just kidding

Any worries as to why your rear tire was so low?

according to michelin's web site, regardless if a car is front or rear wheel drive, the tires with the most remaining tread should always be placed on the rear wheels. that said, it is weird why only that one tire has uneven wear. if it were me, i would just get new tires at this point, as safety is always a #1 concern. it's just not risk getting caught on a rainy day with under-par tires.

2.8.2008 Meet Pix

Didn't take any pix except for the ones Casey & Michelle took w/ my camera

Definitely didn't have a good day Saturday though. First, rain into 2 consecutive accidents on the 210 East and was majorly late for the meet. Second, my right contact lens popped out right as we went up the first twisty on the 138- forcing me to pull over right away. Thirdly, I didn't know Jake & Steph weren't going to lunch with the gang and accidentally followed them the wrong way after we came down the mountain. <LOL> :P

p.s. sorry didn't get to see Keith & Erica on the cruise. also, the calendar looks great- thanks for all the work u guys (keith & loren) put into it.

p.s.s. where in the world was jorge?

lol.... i haven't washed my car since 8/2007, and i still came to the meet. well, my car isn't super dirty- just dusty mostly. (see the 5th pix in the set i posted.) it was nearly perfect weather for our cruise

i did end up being too tired by day-end to make it to the 626 meet though. will try to go next week.

cupping of the tire is usually caused by a blown strut..... the tire will be fine, and should wear down smooth again if put on another location, or fix the problem... does the strut have any wetness on it?

no everything looked dry.

as for the other tire being so low, we had a puncture fixed so that may be the cause. i will keep an eye on it the next few days.

At least my car has a hand.
Every other pic that Detrich posted looks like there is no driver or hand.

You guys are crazy letting your cars go out on a windy road by themselves.

those self driving cars are spooky. Although, JUST seeing the hand in Cesar's car is the creepiest.

Detrich: I was at home on Saturday, I'll make it out there next month.
