major power loss, lots of wite smoke (with slight blue tint) that smells like oil and fuel = blown rotor. likely broken apex seals on one rotor.

pull the plugs, crank it over. that will tell you FOR SURE within 5 minutes.

I am sure you know the rotary abd how it should sound, but just in case...

you should hear:
chug, chug, chug, chug, chug, chug,... etc

2 or 3 broken seals:
chug, hiss, chug, hiss, chug, hiss, .... etc

1 broken seal:
chug, hiss, chug, chug, chug, hiss, .... etc

really really bad:
hiss, hiss, hiss, hiss, hiss, hiss, hiss, hiss, hiss, hiss, hiss, hiss, hiss....... oh crap.

he he, that was fun.
anyways, keep us informed.

blew a seal. there were several broken pieces of a dull gray metal sitting on top of the catalyst material in my mid pipe. both my coolant levels and motor oil levels were significantly lower then before the incident.

Sorry to hear all the trouble gh0st.
Here's something that's actually on topic, and it's funny.
It's on youtube, but that's blocked here at work, so I linked it to another site.

I don't get to post this very often, but it's guaranteed to make you laugh.

so for any of you who want a big crishtmas tree and dotn want to spend much or get one of those little needle "pretty trees" i have a place for you. its in Devore we got a 12+ tree for $35. It didnt looked that big outside but as soon as we got it home and stood it up in the middle of our entry room it almost touched the ceiling so i had to lop about 2 feet off of it. ...and then i forgot to secure it and it fell down 3 hours later. The stump was soo big that i has to go out and buy a saw that night just to cut it as no one in the neighborhood had anything big enough. now we have to try to decorate it and hope we have enough decorations and lights.

did you cut 2' off the top or bottom?
if it's the top, I'm coming over to look.

if i cut 3 feet of the top i wouldn't of had to buy a saw, the trunk was close to 8" wide.

Detrich next time we go to an airshow i will have to take you. Trouble is most of the bases arent having any for some time. EAFB is in October and MAFB is in the summer but both dont currently have any scheduled. The little shows dont bring out the real hardware.

we still have our 6 foot tall fake tree...really does look silly up against 12 foot ceilings.....Snowfl8k really does want a new fake tree. Maybe for next year.....if I can figure out how to store a 12 foot fake tree. If I get one, definately want the one that already has the lights attached...maybe one of the fliber optic ones....

It is a small sacrifice to make her happy, given that I have not had to do any outside decorating for 6 years now

Cesar: went to send a Picture message last night and was like, "WTF, it's not an option???"

fortunately I did some digging around on ppc geeks and I think I found a work around.
