so the story is a REALLY bad flooding, and they wont even cover that.
$30 for the tow
$95 to deflood it
they suggested replacing the plugs but i think i can do that myself. any suggestions on where to get some NKG plugs cheap?

if your car has 46k miles, wouldn't it still be covered under warranty? and flooding is a warrantable failure, correct?

don't let them give you the run-around. have them pay for it!

they called the flooding issue a maintance issue, (i.e. oil change etc.)

wtf? maintenance issue? flooding is not a maintenance issue. it's a known failure of the rotary, which should be covered under warranty.

you still have 2k miles left on your original Mazda warranty.

damn that sucks loren... they probably are being ******** cuz your car's there and they sort of have you hostage... ur 8 is an 04 or an 05? if they change the plugs will they warranty it from flooding for a certain period of time? that might make it worth it... or, maybe consider trying a better dealership.

loren: print TSB, hand it to them.
Ask when you can pick your car up at no charge.

your car never had any problems.

the problem is:

you took your car to romero.

be thankful if you get it back with all the wheels on it.

^9k miles on your 8? that just aint right, the car isnt even broken in yet.

Yep Jedi it worked i showed it to him and said i should have to pay and sure enough he printed out a new invoice $0.00 but i still dont have my new plugs. i guess i may do that myself anyway. I am up for my 30k and 45k service so i will see how much of that i can do myself and record it as best as possible.

grats Loren, glad it worked for you. I just hate seeing people get taken advantage of like that.
IF you need plugs, send a PM to Charles R. Hill, he's got a bunch in stock for super cheap. He'll send you a set of OEM plugs (which are the best plugs for our cars)
They're pretty easy to change out yourself

If you want to maintain your 100k coverage on your engine (which I think you do), pay the rediculous fee for them to change your oil, air filter, and "lube the chassis"...to have it documented that service was done. I'm not joking about having it done at the dealership, because we have had two people, just in this thread who are having issues with getting things covered because they did maintenance on their own vehicles.

I know it is rediculous to overpay for service...just think of it as a way to keep your 100k warranty on your car. 150 bucks now, is much better than 3 grand down the road if the engine goes bad.

They were nice enough to brake my transmission upon putting it back together so that I didn't have to buy a new one. I was thankful to their technician's competence on that one....it saved me 3 grand. Because if they actually got that thing back together, I would have been out the money to buy a new transmission.

I have bought 3 cars from them, will continue to use them...mainly because they are close and convenient, and given that I realize that dealerships are all based on the quality of workers that they have....

...and, if they do something wrong...there is a big pocket book standing behind them so I'm not worried.
