Think in Forza 2 terms....on Nissan Speedway, the shortest line would be to hug the inside line the entire way around the track.....have you ever been able to do that? Turn on the green suggestion line and watch the route it takes you.....would be identical to the picture you posted above.

Other suggestion, turn tire sound all the way up, and turn everything else off, and then run along the track following the green suggestion line.....you shouldn't hear much tire noise at all. Follow a different path and you'll notice much more tire noise, which means you're scrubbing off speed and momentum.

I only saw the last 12 laps. No highlights.
I did hear them talking about the crash, and I believe one driver was air-lifted to a hospital.

Car catches on fire in the pit:

Huge crash. Unfortunately I think this is the guy who suffered a spinal injury. (also the same guy from the 1st clip) Talk about a bad day at the track...

Weird, I've never had a front plate issue on any of my family's cars. In total we have 4 cars without front plates that have been that way since we bought them and nobody has ever said anything.

take your pic http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-.../2034154/full/ the second picture is my labtop desktop. these are big enough that you can edit them enough to make them fit a 24" screen. Attached is my desktop background at work right now.

sorry to hear about your plate, you seem to have bad luck with that.

So my car is due for an oil cahnge but i am also planning a trip up the coast this weekend. you think i will be ok if i just fill the oil up and take off and then when i get back have the oil changed performed?

with the front plate i think it's just dumb luck and if u happen to be in the wrong place, wrong time... with cities bleeding for money due to the economic crisis, i'm sure the cops are on the prowl to issue more tickets...

our sales tax went up and is probably going up again, vehicle license fees went up, obama's increasing our income taxes, water utility costs are going up, and law enforcement is desperately issuing citations... sigh

how did we get here again?

ran the car at Adams kart track. Jesse and I were the fastest cars there. they asked us to do a tandum run. it was pretty freakin cool. reminded me of driving through the mountains like we used to.

dont forget to click HD when you get in, it makes it at least a little better.

if you're already over, i'd do the oil change. when you get back (depending on how many miles you've put on your car on this trip) i'd add a quart of oil when you get back.

personally, i feel that having the front plate is a stupid *** law. the same as not being able to have your front windows tinted.

Front tinted windows obscure your vision.

Can't tell you how many times drivers with those pull out in front of me.

I think a million..

^and wea re just looking out for our radiators, front license plate obscure their breathing.

front windshield or front passenger windows? the front passenger windows obsure your vision as mcuh as they do the back passenger windows and those are much harder to see your blind spots then directly accross from you.

LIES!!! ALL LIES!!!
Those drivers just suck at driving. That's part of living in Cali.

Having your windows tinted does not obscure your vision.
In fact, when I'm turning left or right, and I have to stare towards the Sun,
my tinted windows are what allows me to see cars w/o being blinded by the Sun.

I said this before, and I'll say it again. There are a bunch of laws written, so that a cop can pull you over w/o profiling.
They're not allowed to look at a guy and say, "He looks like a thug, so I'll stop him", but they can say, "You're missing your front license plate, or your windows are tinted."
How do I know they are BS laws, because if they really were safety issues, then they would be a law in every state.
Many states don't require front plates, and allow front window tint.

The only cops that give fix-it tickets are either A) Racist, or B) Afraid of real police work.
If it's "B", then they should have joined AAA w/ a badge, or as some people call them, CHP.

I personally know many cops. Not one of them is into giving fix-it tickets.
Now, if some guy gets stopped for something else, and has a mouth on him, then he should get some extra fix-it stuff added.
But, none of the cops I know stop people just for fix-it tickets.
However, if I found out that some of them did stop people just for fix-it tickets, I would no longer call them my friend. </rant>
