sounds like a PS3 would for you....how would that be a father's day gift? Maybe because you would have to forfit your Xbox 360, and then I would go out a buy a third so I can then buy three LCVD tvs and set up my dream system for Forza 3.....woot woot....three systems, three tvs.....running the game so that I could have a panaramic view of the race.....then get a welder out, a Recaro bucket seat and a race wheel.....and we would be set.

Only dreaming, would never happen....but would be cool.

I would get it just to hear you sing those ABBA songs.

The 360 does have the game called "Lips"....it is a Singstar equivalent game.

But for Gerry's purpose, I think he would get more enjoyment out of Rockband 2. The format is better, and the song list is far superior to GH....hands down....Rockband 2.

Erica and I have both, have played both, have downloaded music for both, and by far, Rockband wins.

I don't know what music is available for Singstar, or for the 360 equivalent, "Lips". I'm sure there is an online list somehwere....maybe El Nerdo would be able to find a link?

cool... thanks for the feedback!

i've been looking for a decent karaoke game for a while... i'll do some reading then on SingStar and Rock Band 2... do they come with the USB mics as part of the package, or will any PS3 compatible USB mic work? i dont' really want the other hardware that comes with rock band, since it's like almost $200...

the reviews for SingStar on PS3 look pretty good so far. it's a Sony game, so seems like they put some thought into it... $60 for the basic game + 2 mics. sound reasonable?

You can buy just the game and the peripherals separate.

The most important question is - Why do you want a karaoke game?
If it's just for you and some friends to sing, but you don't really care if it keeps score like the games, then you don't really need to buy one of these games.
If you're getting it just to have karaoke, I can hook you up w/ all the karaoke you need.
My current karaoke collection is approx. 9,000 songs.

All you need is a computer, mic, and the connections to play it through a stereo from the computer.

...it's still afternoon. for me "night time" is when the sun has finally set even though there may be a few rays of sun light left reaching over the horizon.

Isn't erica sopposed to be the one who is sick, not you. And school is even out too. I had a headache on Wednesday as well but it went away with a few games of basketball, but that is by no means a migrane.

Actually, they are mp3 files, but they also have a lyrics file associated w/ them.
I use winamp to play them on the laptop, and there is a plug-in that shows the lyrics just like regular karaoke.
I connect the laptop to the big screen, and a mic/music to my surround sound.
It works really well for parties.
The nice thing about winamp, is that you can start typing an artist or song in the search, and it narrows down the list as you type.
Makes it really easy to find songs, and you can also put songs in a playlist.
I'll have to check the size, but I seem to remember is was about 20gb worth.

Bummer. Too many head shots on COD?
Get those migraines all out of your system before we leave for Vegas Thursday.

Keith: you should ask your doctor for some migraine medicine. It's nice to have around for instances like this. Emilie has a few different ones and most recently they gave her a shot that she can take when she gets them. (remember how out of it she was when we first got to your place last month? She had taken...that was why)

Loren: I think Keith is having sympathy pains already... this is going to be a LONG 9 months.

Cesar: 20gb of karaoke music?! I might have to steal that from you one day, could come in handy one day.
Also, sorry we didn't get a chance to Zaino the car last weekend...stupid rain.
any update on the rooms for Vegas?

It's cool. I'll just run it through the drive-thru wash again.

No change. Same room for 6 people. (technically, it's 7 people now)

dude, i get headaches and migranes all the time. if it's just a regular headache, i take 4 200mg ibuprofens. but, if it's an all out migrane, i take some 2 excedrin pills. usually within the hour the migrane is gone or at least down to a regular headache.
