detrich: how's the job? Getting better?

thanks for asking... well, i've adjusted a bit. commute-wise, this place is a lot closer to my house. but, i'm a night owl and have been all my life... will never change. so, having to wake up earlier for an earlier start time ends up being worse for me, since i'd rather wake up later and work later.
i think that i'm just burned out and would really like to do something else. but, it's not easy doing mid-life career changes- esp when u've worked up seniority & salary level etc... <sigh> not to mention the job market's dried up with this fucked up economy...
i guess like most ppl, it's hard to find a job that's enjoyable. i'm definitely more of a free-spirit/ creative type. so, being anchored at a desk all day and dealing with mundane things like computer issues over and over is synonymous to tying me in a chair and slowly torturing me to death by forcing me to listen to michael jackson or something...
at least at new line cinema, it was a relaxed, fun & creative work environment. but over here at a financial co. it's just like sitting in a library all day long waiting for death. if i have projects to work on, then that passes the time a bit- tho i can't say i enjoy the work. if there aren't any fires to put out, then that's good. but, then it's dealing with users calling up with their idiotic questions. then it becomes bite the tongue, put on a (fake) smiley face, and help them with their stupidity. there are phd's and equity researchers here making six to seven figure salaries who don't even know the most basic things about using a computer. at some point it's like, dude, a 5 year old even knows how to do this... do u want me to stand in the bathroom and hand you toilet paper to wipe your *** too? lol it's really sad...

I am hoping to meet a few of you guys soon. I will finally be coming home to Cali this week after working overseas for nearly 6 years. I will check the other threads for the next meets. Look forward to making some new friends. I am not from Cali, so I don't really know anyone except for my girlfriend. Cali here I come, Thanks!!!

WOW! Quiet thread this weekend.
Welcome to CA-
What area are you moving to? I know you're profile says, San Bernardino, but is that County or City?
The San Bernardino meet is 2nd Sat of every month.
Not everyone goes every month, but there's usually a decent turn out.
Sounds like several people that haven't been around for a while, coming to the August meet.
There will probably be a "Who's Coming" list closer to the date.

his post fight interview was hilarious! He's having a tough time breaking old WWE habits.
Did you see how quick he was to apologize at the press conference? (apparently Dana White was NOT amused and ripped him a new one)
That KO by Hendo was vicious!
I was glad to see that because Bisping was getting too cocky and just running his mouth. The fact that he said he would KO Hendo in the fight just made it perfect. (for those that dont' know, Hendo has never been stopped or KO'd)
