AkzoNobel’s StickerFix repair system
February 18, 2010
Motorists no longer have to come unstuck when their vehicle suffers a minor scratch thanks to a new do-it-yourself (DIY) repair and protection solution from AkzoNobel Car Refinishes.

Already launched in ten countries across Europe, StickerFix™ is an adhesive system which uses patented AkzoNobel paint technology in combination with a specially developed vinyl sticker. As well as covering up minor nicks, it can also be used to protect vulnerable areas such as door edges.

“I think we’re offering a truly innovative product to our customers,” says Jim Rees, Managing Director of AkzoNobel’s Car Refinishes business. “It gives bodyshops an opportunity to increase their own profits with an additional sale, and to strengthen their relationship with their customers. I’m very confident that StickerFix is going to be a big success.”

Adds AkzoNobel Car Refinishes’ Director Marketing, Ralf Schueler: “We’ve got an absolutely unique product with StickerFix. There’s nothing like it available on the market. We all know how frustrating it can be when the perfect paint job starts to get scarred with scratches and chips. This is a very quick DIY solution which is not only easier, but also gives better results than a touch-up pen.”

Several hundred bodyshops are now selling the product and the process is simple. When a customer brings a vehicle into a bodyshop for repair, the repair specialist can easily match the vehicle’s color and spray it onto an adhesive vinyl sheet while carrying out the repair job. After adding a clearcoat to the vinyl sheet and then cutting it into specific shapes, the customer is given a DIY repair system which can later be applied to any damaged or vulnerable areas.

The system – which is sold in a specially developed transparent package of A5 (half-page) sheets – can also be produced in standard colors and sold over-the-counter at the dealer service department.

AkzoNobel will be demonstrating the StickerFix system at the Geneva Motor Show from March 4 until March 14.

speaking of companies and changes. Last year we didnt have our annual retreat. this year we are. typically we get polo shirts for the event but this year we are getting t-shirts. But at least we are having the event and getting something in the process which is better then last year. hopefully things keep turning up.

I started my taxes 3 weeks ago and finished them. I just have reviewed them yet and submited them. You think I woudl want my money.

Last weekend we went hiking in Mecca (30 mins past Palm Springs).
Next weekend we are taking Doggies to Silver Wood Lake (by our meet turn out).

dang, that's nice! but, it's probably too expensive for my budget anyways...

actually, i'm really happy with my khs xc-204... just wish it came with the rear suspension lockout like the 604... it seems odd just that one single feature costs $300 more for the 604... but, $1500 would've been way way too much...

summer's coming and there should be some good mtn biking weather coming up

p.s. i found this modded, motorized version of my bike on ebay... hilarious and expensive: http://cgi.ebay.com/KHS-XC-204-40-MP...item2a045b920c
