UPDATE
New motor installed, hollowed out CAT, now car still is getting the crappy milage it was getting and running real rich like it did before the cat clogged and blew the motor. I only get 145 miles to a tank instead of the 223 i use to get before the fuel light comes on. So now what could it be? I dont even get a check engine light for the hollowed out cat. The Mazda dealer is not able to tell me anything due to no CEL

Sorry to hear about the problems you are having with your car. I got almost 300 (in the 290 range) to a tank when I had my 8...but of course that was 99% highway driving..it rarely saw stop light street driving.

幹他媽!
Bird poop leaves a stain in the clearcoat of my BMW unless I manage to wash it off rt away b4 the car is exposed to sunlight... The paint is super hard and difficult to fix- even
with a porter cable.
Mazda paint chips n scratches a milllion times more easily. But it's softer n easier to polish out blemishes I've noticed.

Thank God for Apple!![Worship](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/worship.gif)
That's right, I said it. Most of you know that Apple is not my favorite/first choice when it comes to gadgets. Recently, with the announcement of the iPad, I've had a lot of fun at the expense of Steve Jobs and Gerry.![Wiggle](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/wiggle.gif)
No matter what your opinion is about Apple, you can't deny it's impact on technology. iPod changed music and mp3 players, iPhone changed phones and how people view smartphones, which increased competition and gave us better options all around. Soon we'll have the iPad, and even before it's out, it's already making a huge impact on technology.
One of the features missing from the new iPad is the support for Flash Player. Adobe and Apple have never really agreed on it's importance. Flash is important to most of us because tons of pages support, and require it in order to operate correctly. Youtube, for example can't work w/o Adobe Flash.
However, there are other options to using flash, but not many people have made the switch. The best option is creating pages in HTLM5. It's the newest standard for coding webpages, and the amount of support it has for media and features is huge. Plus, it's not processor intensive like Adobe products or Microsoft's Silverlight.
So, with all the hype about iPad, and no support for Flash, major websites are preparing to switch to HTML5 so they don't lose the iPad crowd. New York Times, NPR, CBS and Wall Street Journal are all switching or there are rumors of them switching to HTML5. Youtube started an HTML5 site a while back before the iPad announcement. Youtube is owned by Google. Google is also planning to go away from Flash. Google makes products that are written in HTML5 so it makes sense for them to move away from it. Youtube's HTML5 site has more features too, even though it's in beta right now. You can actually change the play speed of videos and when you skip around, it starts instantly w/o having to buffer the video.
So, as much as I hate to admit they're helping, Apple is making a positive impact on technology.

Do you get a kickback for referrals? ![Stick Out Tongue](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
The other thing you can do is just drive a lot. That seems to have done it for me.
Last year at the Dyno Day I got about 177hp on my best pull. (Don't remember the exact #.)
And, I was getting about 220 miles to a tank before I had to get to the gas station.
My car had lightened flywheel, undrive pulleys, RP Supercat, K&N Typhoon II intake, and a lightened ACT Street clutch.
This year at the Dyno day I got 187hp.
Same intake and RP Supercat, but everything else is stock.
Also, now I get about 240miles before I need to get to a gas station.
Yesterday I filled up my tank and I was at 245miles, and those miles included the Dyno day.
Of course I do have the COBB AccessPORT too.

That is what I was thinking of doing. I would like to upgrade the exhaust and cold air intake. Maybe some lighter wheels.

By the way when I was leaving home today I saw a dark grey suburban with a in memory of Dave Segalla rotary stick on the back, anyone know what that was (the driver)?

We were shaking like crazy at my house.
![Puke](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/puke.gif)
The mini-blinds in all the rooms were hitting the windows.
PC Monitors were swaying back and forth. We felt all 25secs of it.

WOW it was that hard? Maybe thats was why I fell over on my bike? I had just stoped at the ranger station going up to baldy. I had gotten back on and only moved a foot and wham.....actually it was just the deep sand I was in and my foot was clipped into the pedal already. Cat and dogs were fine when I got home. Cat does however HATE thunder.
