Keith said he in intrested and the second week of June sounds good. For me the only Satruday in June that I can do is 15th or 29th. I will check ith the rest.

FYI - FF6 comes out May 24th!

Alright guys, I say we round up the troops and hit the roads together in June like the 'ol days.
Sure we'll have a few less RX-8's then in years past but it's been a while since some of us have hung out or even gone for a drive so I say we make it happen.

Loren
Keith
Erica
Gerry
Casey
Cesar
Jesse
Michael
Tim

Anyone else I'm forgetting?

What do you guys think about a drive to Rim of the World or Big Bear, or even the route we used to take and then have a nice lunch somewhere.

June 15th works for me.
Anyone else?

I was thinking about setting up an event on Facebook since not everyone check in here?
Meet at Pirate, drive up the 15 and take red road passed Silverwood Lake to Twin peaks and drive rim of the world all the way to Big Bear. The question is to we go to one of the picnic grounds on the north side of the lake and hang out/BBQ? or find a restaurant. Drive back chill and hit Fast and Furious at the drive in? Is that too much for one day?

that sounds like one hell of a day.
I'd be up for hanging out / bbq, it would make it fun for those with kids.

If we do that AND a movie, I think it might be too long of a day for some though.
So maybe restaurant + movie OR hangout + optional movie?
I'm up for whatever.

I think a FB event would be a great idea.

Sounds good, but then again the day will be shorter for Cesar, Casey, and Keith if they drive up and meet us after the cruise, we don't want any one to be sick. We will find out.

15th is probably the best day for me.

Would like More Info Live in the High Desert and would love the opportunity to meet some RX-8 owners.

Its just a gathering of some old friends. What this thread needs is someone to take on the responsibility for a monthly meeting, I am sure there are other people in the area. The group that use to do it doesn't anymore, some of them have since moved on or got different cars.

Loren: it's really just you and Cesar these days that still own 8's and live in the area.
I nominate you.

I am going to scout (google earth) a few more restaurants to see which one works best. I was planning on the big loop on the drive, Silverwood and down 38.
I have a big bike event June 1 so that is priority right now.

Well it wasn't a race but more of an event. That is where the pictures came from on Google+. The event was totally awesome, I had a great time, the scenery was perfect. My fitness level was on par and the descents were fast.

I was supposed to ride to Big Bear Saturday on my bike but I slept in (another event) so I ended up doing my own thing yesterday. Ended up seeing an older couple hit a deer while crossing the road! I stayed with them till they got help but never got an good resonance on a restaurant. I am relying on Yelp and Google reviews. The food does look good and it has ample parking.
