Cesar: Need your help again.
After tinkering around with the Treo this weekend, I'm starting to think I really dont' like it. The stylus gets boring.
Any cool / useful Verizon compatible phones out there that I should look at?
Touch screen is a plus, web browsing a must, and it better not be a crackberry.
LG Voyager comes to mind but I don't know a ton about the phone and whether it's just all pretty packaging like the iPhone.

Which Treo did you get?
You're not going to get the unlimited data plan ($45/mo), right?
The problem is touch screen and email.
Touch screen phones are much better if you're using it a lot for stuff other than phone calls, because scrolling through menus gets old quick.
The Voyager is an expensive, pretty phone, but it will get you email and it is touch screen.
If you only plan to use it for email and phone calls, touchscreen is not that necessary.
Tell me again why you can't test Sprint?
They have a $30/mo plan that would give you everything you need and GPS and DSL speeds for downloads and uploads. Plus, you can get an awesome phone for less than the cost of the Voyager.

Sprint coverage here is beyond terrible. 2 good friends of mine have it and I can't count the number of times I've heard them complain about their service. (plus I end up talking to myself all the time)
- got the 700w
- was planning on getting the data pkg
Pretty much just want email, web, and phone calls. can I run IM on phones like the Voyager? or just on the Treo?

There is absolutely no comparison between the Voyager VS. the phones w/ Windows Mobile 6 (WM6). Especially the XV6800 or XV6900.
(It's like a fully loaded Accord w/ appearance package VS. and M5 for the same price.)
The phone I have is the same as Verizon's XV6900. (HTC Vogue/Sprint Touch/XV6900)
It has no slide out keyboard, but it will run just about any program you can think of, and I probably already have the software for you.
The keyboard is on the touch screen. I'm using a keyboard called TouchPal.
Check out their page for a demo of TouchPal on the Sprint Touch. http://www.cootek.com/ You actually don't miss the physical keyboard once you get used to it.
The XV6800 is very nice, but everyone complains about the small amount of RAM, which will limit how many things you can run at one time. That's not an issue w/ the XV6900.
The Voyager has Mobile IM, but I'm not sure what services that works w/.
I use IMPlus on my phone. http://www.shapeservices.com/en/prod...php?product=im
It will run on WM6 and it works w/ Yahoo/MSN/AOL/ICQ/MySpace/G-Talk.
You can also install Skype if you use that service.
All of these phones have a memory card slot, and you can add an 8gb card for music/pics/videos.
Another thing, the Voyager is EVDO Rev.0 and the other's can run on EVDO Rev.A.
The difference in speed is 3-4x's, and with WM6 you can tether to you pc/laptop w/o telling Verizon and having to pay the additional tethering fee.

幹他媽!
wow, it is in great condition. congrats.
It was in the garage when I got home last night, and I had to study for a midterm I've got today, so I haven't had much time yet to take any pictures. To give you some idea as to how it looks, my brother sent me this picture from his camera phone last night.

I will post more pictures after we polish and wax it this weekend, and much, much more pictures after I get mine back from the shop.

Cesar: looks like I can get that phone from Verizon for $299. Sounds like a good deal.

I actually have been keeping an eye on autotrader for a while now (a whhhhhile for all you family guy fans)
I am still trying to figure out how to get 2 cars put on 1 bill. I need a commuter AND an RX7.
So I need to find a dealership who is willing to work with me on the paperwork and how the terms are written.
And this would have to be after selling my car. But that can't happen until a few months after I move in to the new house. So the 8 will still be around for SS-XI, but after that, I may be going old school.

Thank you guys very much.
That thing is beautiful. It looks to have a straight body. My aunt has a red 88 convertible.

For sure.
She just doesn't want me to get rid of the 8.
It is a wonderful car, my favorite I have ever owned. (except maybe the porsche 914, or the cosworth, or the formula, or the bug) But she wants the 8 to be her car once we have kids. And if I do get rid of it, I will be replacing it with a little commuter that she would not enjoy nearly as much.
We will see. I am in the right position to make a move now, or any time in the future. I still have 20,000 miles left under warranty . .. maybe a I should keep it for another couple years.

keep it for a while. No sense in making another big financial decision this close to picking up the house.
Like you said, you're in a good position now (financially) with the car so there isn't much rush

It would be so nice to have 2 cars though.
1 for commuting, and 1 for wrenching on. There is no way I am gonna give up the 13b, it would just have to be in a 7. My biggest concern is canyon cruising in a car I owe $$$$$ on. I drive like a grandpa, but still . . . . **** happens.
It would also be nice to have a car that I can work on, and not have to put it back together by monday for work.
It is still just a thought, but the option is out ther for me. (and it would cut my car payments in half)
