so razz did you really do it?
So i saw these combinations of cars this past week. one was a nicely loaded lexas with an oversized focus fender grill, it looks out of place for sure.
The other was a slammed chevy truck with a competly redone cadallic fornt end, thsi actaully looked ok except for it being slammed.
Oh and i heard on the news this morning that drive up / by hit was attemped in rancho cucamonga last night i guess. the girl friend of the shooter got hit in the head with a bullet and was released from the hospital (they coudlnt take the bullet out) she is in hiding now.

So my car is back on the stock wheels.
I swear the car handles better with smaller tires. I think the larger/wider tires have a less predictable feel than the thinner ones. Maybe it is the weight, maybe it is just in my head, but it is kinda nice to be back on 245's.

i could deffinitly tell a difference when i went on a criuse with brand new stock tires 18" x 8 compared to half used 19" x 8.5 tire on the volks. sure the last meet was like 2 months ago so i wasnt used to pushing it but i thought the larger tires deffinitly had more grip and the car felt more stable. nnow with the said i think doing tight parking monuvers at work are much easier in the stock sizes tires.

yah, that was a point sammy was making on saturday... wider tires grip better, but require a lot more effort to turn on a dime. that's why he said for autocross, u don't want wider tires but for open range tracking u would. i'm learning more every time. ![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
looking forward to the long weekend i guess. what about u guys?

New -
- back on the stock wheels
- Got a low pro floor jack
- listed the Work wheels on ebay
Exciting -
- I hit an oil slick in stephs car the other day, that raised my heart rate.
- still waiting on word on a house
- the Lakers are going to the playoffs.

Detrich: I'm pretty sure ALL the guys on here will disagree with the idea that wider tires are not helpful for Auto-X.

hmm, maybe i heard him wrong then? it sounded to me from their conversation that for consecutive, hard turning courses like auto-x, the wider tires make it harder to sail thru the turns.

I am sure the wider tires offer more traction. Maybe it was the fact that the rears were wider than the fronts. Whatever it was, the car seems to have a faster initial turn in now that the stockers are back on.

i can see wider tires hinder oen in a tight turn slowly but at autocross events they go through those corners so fast grip is more important to prevent sliding. ALL race cars use wider tires, ALL. except for maybe the fornt tires on rear wheel sdrag cars.

lol... no, it's from 9:30pm til midnight, technically. but, since a lot of guys roll in late, after midnight we roll over to the new restaurant that sky works at- since he can't come to the meets anymore. i left at around 245am, but all the other guys were eating, drinking, chatting cars til around 3:30am.
stephen actually showed up right when i left...

well, a lotta guys on the bmw forums all think that pontiac has been copying bmw's honey comb grill since inception by just tweaking it a bit. i think the panels on the G8 are just a bit flatter. if they were bulgier and flared out more, it would look even more like the m.
