Look is a very personal thing....I don't find the MS3 a head turner by any means. Detrich said it perfectly a while back when he said Mazda did something amazing with the design/styling of the 8. I think you'll have a hard time finding the perfect replacement for the 8 in either direction you go.

As for the MS3....you might be able to get a good deal on one if you end up trading in your 8. There is a strong market right now for used 8's....and a Mazda dealer will most likely be the best place to shop your trade in (if that is what you are considering). Private party is a headache.....take it from Casey and I. The MS3 was not in my search as it got the same gas mileage as the 8, ran on premium (as same with the 8), but was more to insure than the 8 (given its turbo platform)......so, went with the non-turbo'd for me.......

My feedback on my 3 after the first 9 thousand miles....almost up to 10k on the car now. It is NOT fun in any means. It is uncomfortable. The seats just don't fit you like the 8. In the 8, you are sitting in the car....with a great sense of being in the driving position. The 3, well, you just feel like you are fitting on top of the seats and just driving a boring car. In a positive direction, I'm getting about 30-32 mpg, have more horse power and room than the other two cars I was looking at, and have a factory warranty to fall back on when things go wrong (my warranty was up on the 8).....

Have already taken the car in for a stuck fricken gas cap, and a broken rear seat belt. It is definately a cheap car, with just enough tyling on the interior to make you miss your 8......and no rotary whine as you shift at 4500 rpms.

I saw that. I think they should become a part of every household.
You would have the trash can, the recycle can, and that lawn clipping green can would just be filled with bugs that make oil for your car.

did something break on the 8 that was unfixable? or are you just tired of the car and want something new?

i honestly do not think there is a production sports car that is as unique and as cool as the 8 in it's price bracket. yes, there are faster ones, better performing ones, and many more expensive ones. but, all-in-all, there is no other sports car as special as the 8 in it's price range. (i will stand by that.)

that said- keith made some really good points. i'll further add that unless u get the GT package, the 3 is really just an econo hatchback with some new bling bling wheels. (the spider web wheels are nice.)

nissan has improved the G considerably. but, i see them everywhere. it's more a luxury car than a sports car, imo- unless u get the new "s" type model, which i think raises the price tag considerably.

heck, just get the GT-R michael. (can i be the first one to get a ride when u get it?)

Michael: I'm voting for the G35 sedan. If the 8 must go, that would be a car that should make you happy, it's pretty reliable, comfortable, AND when you mash on the pedal you have some pretty good performance.

I know how you feel, i am going 3 years on my 3 and i swear it has given me back problems and i am barely hitting 22. The seats are the worse thing about the car in my opinion.

I need to see it in person, but according to those pics, I don't like it as much as the previous version.

the car gets heat soaked. does not over heat but when it's hot out side
she just does not want to pull the way it should.
and only when i drive real far are very hard. so right now its good.
i even chirped the tires friday n second gear, and was happy about it. but i drove to
san berdo sat. for the wedding i went to, got off the fwy way
and no power in third and forth. it took to long to get up to speed.
could be the cat or something else, but not happy about it..
maybe i should have the cat replaced just to see what happens.

RP Supercat might be checking into.
It's cheaper than the OEM Cat. If you're OEM is still good, you can put it aside and use the less expensive Supercat. I've been thinking of buying one myself.
