sorry to hear the bad news casey. but, we understand that life is such & u gotsta do whatcha gotsta do. i think we'll all miss seeing your yellow 8 at the meets... that said, the new mx-5 is a really fun little car. actually, it's like a miniature 8 in some respects- exterior-wise. i have a friend that has a white miata with a mustang 5.0 engine in it, actually. i think he has 3 miatas right now, but he's always looking to pick up more- since he collects (buys/ sells) them. i should try to get him to come to one of our meets one of these days. if i'm still single with zero financial responsibilities still by the time the 2nd gen 8 or rx-9 comes out <lol>, i'll for sure be upgrading... or at least i think i will be

I could be wrong, but I dont think so.
I think he is either going to kep the RX-8s or get rid of one of them for a "family" & Economic car some time down the road. (just goin off of what he has told me in the past)

Who were the people that started this meet?
How long ago was it?
What was everybody driving at the first meet?
What are those same people driving now?
I love the Miata idea. I have always wanted one. Super light and completely affordable fun, great aftermarket support, and one of the largest SCCA classes out there.
You do know a 13b will fit in a Miata . . . right? That is still a " mazda factory motor "

Casey & I (turbo 2)
Jesse (91 Turbo FC)
Scotty (94 FD)
Started the meet on October 2004 @ Dennys on Tennesse in Redlands
Only one person showed up
Ray Ray (87? NA FC)
Since we didnt have alot of people show we kept it to a small local run that we use to do though green spot. It is a very short run.
(Picture is down below. We only had a camera phone at the time)
Casey and I went and bought the rx-8 before our next Nov meet.
That meet we picked up a couple more. We added
Jill in the gray (rx-8)
GuiterJunky28 (black heavily modified FC T2)
Dave (guiterjunky) showed us the idlewile (Sorry sp) run.
(second picture below)
We took a short break because of the holidays and came back in January to meet most of the people that are here in our meet today. It has come along way and we are so happy to know that we have met so many great people. We dont plan on lossing touch with any of you. We love what the meets have become.
Casey and Jesse:Hope I got all that info right. You can fix me if I missed anything

well no matter if you have the 8 are not i'm still showing up.
you can't find a great bunch of people hardly anymore, and you
all are a great bunch of people..
i'll have mine for a while longer jedi, even though i was
really tempted after this dealer crap that went on.
i don't like how the G35 feels but it sure looks good.

real quick:
short list of parts off the top of my head.
Intake
Pulleys
oil cap
clear corners
wing (with exchange of trunk and a little money)
wheels (with exchange of stock wheels and a little money) (or aftermarket wheels)
Brake rotors
Koni Struts
Sprint Springs
Front Racing beat sway bar (you would need to buy the enlarged end links from racing beat)
Rear sway bar
Flywheel
Short throw
CANScan
Flashed computer has to stay with the car as well as the interior. I also planed on keeping the AUX mod in the car.
..... actually, thats all I can think of.
if any of you want dibs, please feel free to call it now so I dont list it for sale.

and i am curious about the rotors?
the racing beat stuff would be nice to have but i dottn think i want to swing to much money right now.
Still sorry to see everything go, are you just going to trade it in or do a private party sell? I remember it was a little hard last time you posted in the forum.

Oil cap says MazdaSpeed.
Last time I posted it, it was more of a "I might sell it" and "I am not selling it yet" and the price was a little on the high side. and I tried selling it with all the parts.
stock yellow for 21000 should sell. (it blue books at 20,195) figured that even gave me room to "go down" if I need to.
Also I didnt try selling it any place but that one thread. no ebay, no auto trader, no green sheet... you know.
as for the sell its self, my biggest problem is the person has to like the yellow interior. if they dont, they are not going to want the car. but I figure anyone wanting a yellow RX-8 is most likely to like the wild interior. (like myself)
The AUX mod is small but an "aid" in selling the car. "oh yeah, hook up your MP3 player here."
Window tint is an added bonus, and if they dont like tint, it comes off. (only concern is the back window with the rotor, but again, it comes off)
Racing beat flash, I figured I would tell the person if they seem like they are more into the car for the sportyness of it. or if they mention they plan to modify it. If its someone that looks like they are not interested in anything but stock, I just wont mention it. (but again, that type of person would most likley not be interested in a yellow one)
anyways, back on topic. I think that a stock RX-8 with low milage being sold for blue book should sell just fine. but we will see. :-/

I would suggest taking the rear rotor off before trying to sell it.

yeah, but then I would have to take all of the tint off. I think that would be more harm then leaving the rotor...???
If a rotary erson is looking at the car, they might like it. if the person is not into rotarys and doesnt even knwo what he/she is buying, then no they wont like it. (I can always just offer to have it removed if they wish)
I duno, we will see. I still got a week to worry about it.

hmm... i think that some ppl might actually be willing to buy your car the way it is. i guess stock would be a safer bet overall, but u might want to throw out some "feelers" and see what the feedback is too the way your car is right now.
for reference, when my friend first bought his 95 FD back in 97, it was quite the rice rocket. when he drove it over to my house right after getting it, i was kinda stunned. it had racing stickers all over, a wing the size of an boeing 747, and tons of ricey stuff that really were just too much. but, he still bought the car because he liked the condition it was in and the performance mods that were on it- knowing that all the cosmetic stuff were easy to fix, which he eventually did remove.
in my case, i held off on mods altogether, because i wanted to pay the car off first, which i did last year- in about less than 2 years. everytime i had extra $, i just used it to pay down my car loan. and, in hindsight, i'm happy i did that.
so who all's going to the meet on saturday?

i'll be there. and no more browning mazda for me. they detailed my car on the
inside, no air freshener so it smells like it was cleaned with slightly
dirty towels. so i'll get some fresh stuff and throw in there. but car is clean
inside and out. man that has not happened in a very long time, and it looks good.
