Wordly Travels----installment 4
This is the last installment for our European adventures....
@Loren, I kinda knew you would have info on the architecture side of our trip...kinda cool how different people will go on the same trip, but take back different parts of that trip that were most important or memorable.
Pic 1: Rothenburg again, a city street.
Pic 2: Skyline shot of Rothenburg...kinda cool medieval feel.
Pic 3: Thought this port-a-potty sign was funny.
Pic 4: This is atop the city wall section of Rothenburg. The city wall went entirely around the town. This was a section that you could walk on. Not like the city wall that we saw in York, England..which was kinda like the walls in China that you could walk on top of. The city walls in Rothenburg, you didn't walk on top of, but walked behind...on a little ledge. There were holes that you could stop at, to look out of...I guess to see how far your enemies were...I guess.
Pic 5: This is inside the city tower. There were several of these around the city, and would have been where the cannons would be placed for city defense.

Travels--post 2
After leaving Rothenburg, our goal was to get down to two castles in the southern section of Germany (actually Bavaria)...but given that we had a significant time loss due to that road closure, we weren't able to do that. We were lucky though, as we found a tour once we got into Munich, that took us back to both castles. This made Erica VERY happy as she really wanted to see the castles...and she was not so excited about Rothenburg.
Pic 1: King Ludwig took the throne at a very young age. He had grand plans on building three castles for himself. This was the first of these castles....this one was called Linderhauf and was built to have a lot of the same concepts as the Palace at Versaille that we saw in France. We couldn't take any pictures from the inside, but it had a lot of resemblance to Versaille. It even had replica paintings and pieces of furniture. This king was crazy about 14th and 15th century French Monarchs, and wanted his own rule to be much of the same.
Pic 2: This is what was to the front of Linderhauf.
Pic 3: The rear of Linderhauf.
Pic 4: This is the castle of Ludwigs parents. This is where he lived prior to taking the throne. He remained here for most of his days, while his other castles were being built. This castle was very close to his second castle....
Pic 5: His second castle was supposed to be a fairy tale type castle...built upon descriptions and content from a composer with whom Ludwig liked very much (Vogner). This second castle was called Newenstein...and is the inspiration for the cinderalla castle at Disneyland. This picture was taken atop a bridge that spanned a very deep gorge.

Pic 1: This is a picture of that bridge.....it was very windy and cold up there.....
Pic 2: This is a picture taken out of our hotel window in Munich. The weather was great during the days, but turned very ugly and rainy in the evenings. We spent the two evenings we had in Munich, watching the rain and all the wet people running the streets.
Pic 3: We went on a trip to Dachau, and Jewish concentration camp about a half hour outside of Munich. A short train ride from Munich to the city of Dachau, and then a 20 minute smelly bus ride to the camp. This was the main entry gate.
Pic 4: A rebuilt barrack. This is where the jewish people stayed. There were barracks for different "classes" of people that the Germans placed here at Dachau, and there was even a barrack where they did medical experiments on people such as measuring the time that it took for someone to die from hypothermia (the reason fro the experiments was to determine how much time a German pilot would have before dieing if shot down over the English channel) and how much pressure the human body could handle (I assume for underwater purposes...I dunno).
Pic 5: An RX8 sighting in Dublin. This was the last RX8 we saw, only 3 on the whole trip. We saw this blue 8 about 8 times during our week there.

Pic 1: A Dublin street.
Pic 2: We were walking around Trinity College when we spotted a game of cricket. We sat down for a short time...then it started to rain. But, since we were under some really thick trees, and we weren't getting wet, we decided to stay a while. They continued the game as if nothing was wrong...and at some points, the rain was coming down really hard. They paused for some time, pulled out some cigarettes and just waiting for the rain to let up....and then..."Game on".
Pic 3: This is me, with my drunk face. We spent the rest of our rainy afternoon in a pud, you know....just so we could stay dry. Well, the rain lasted longer than my beer tolerance....so when the rain stopped...I tried to walk back to the hotel.....
Pic 4: This was our hotel in Dublin...again, with my beer face.
Pic 5: St. Patricks Cathedral in Dublin. Upon seeing this, we kinda realized that like 99% of the buildings we saw in Europe were all built on the Gothic revival style. It reminded us of our experience in China...after a while, everything starts looking the same.

Last but not least
only one pic left to share....I won't even attempt to explain it.
Hope you enjoyed our trip....and hope it helped those of you who are bored at work. I'll try and get some of our pics from Cabo up shortly.

The Cabo trip was meant as a vacation from the vacation. A week of just sitting, playing in the ocean and sleeping in late.
We did take a boat trip one day. I say boat trip, but it was supposed to be a sports fishing trip. But, since we sat out in the sun for 6 hours and caught nothing, it was just a rather expensive trip around the area by boat.
And here's a pic of the resort. Just to the left of the pic, you'll find the Texas Hold'em table...where Deanna won on Wednesday and I won on Thursday (with the powers of Cacuy Rojo)...more on that later.

Travels--post 2------The Royal Rumble (for those WWF fans in the crowd)
Pic 1: Cacuy applying the choked chicken attack.
Pic 2: Mr.-Mr. applying the deadly knuckle attack.
Pic 3: Cacuy responding with the crowd pleasing elbow drop.
Pic 4: Mr.-Mr. with the patented Judo-somewhat-Power-Ranger kick.
Pic 5: I thought these two were on the same team? At least they are wearing the same colors?

Travels--post 3---When there is no more fighting, Luchadors take anger out to the sea
Pic 1: Chick fight. My money is on the one in blue.
Pic 2: What is the result of adding waves plus tequila? It is a simple math function: Waves + Tequila = Falling Math Teachers.
Pic 3: An angry luchador.
Pic 4: What happens when that same said luchador is not paying attention to the waves behind him
Pic 5: My momma always told me to dry out my mask in between fights with the sea.

Travels--post 4--The summer is over now
We've done a lot of traveling this summer...and I needed some way to rejuvinate my powers.
The answer, taking on my alter persona of Cacuy Rojo.
Pic 1: Cacuy Rojo.
Pic 2: Cacuy and his lady (she is still not decided on her luchador name yet).
Pic 3: Can Cacuy surf...of course he can.
