Thread Jack or no thread jack...dont come at me that your butt hurt

http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/fo...ad/933902.aspx

So this guy posts that he has this idea to make the Speedsource RX8's...and that since NO ONE HAS DONE THEM that he would complete one and then sell them to people on his "reserved list". I see the progress of his version, based upon the pics he posted of his progress. I kindly withhold any comment about the quality of his version, as I know he has not announced that it was his final version.

But, to be honest, I was offended. I have made numerous RX8 replicas for the Auction House, and the Speedsource cars are like my most popular cars based on daily sales.

So, I informed him that I had already completed versions and that they were up. Again, making no comments comparing his version and mine....but letting him know that if he likes my version, he could save himself 20-25 hours of paint hours, and he could just buy my version.

Well, it seems that he got a little butt hurt and his friends thought I thread jacked....oh well.

Just thought I would post my feelings in here rather than post them on his thread. Thought I would post the link, so you guys could see the progress he had made on his version.

What are your thoughts on his version?

I think someone has some anger issues to work out.
I mean, really, the new Accord's are beautiful, head turning, machines, but I think you guys a being a little harsh.

I didn't include a rear shot because, unfortunately, they both have available 268hp.
We might be seeing a lot of the rear shots next year.

The sedan, looks like a boring everyday sedan.

The coupe looks like a close cousin to the Toyota Solara.

wow, that's the new accord? kinda fugly looking to me...

i got to ride in my co-workers civic si recently. and, it was somewhat depressing... with 3 adults in the car (including the driver), when he gunned it, my body was glued back against the seat. i didn't know a small car like that had that kind of power- esp w/ 3 adults. i was really impressed.

Thanks Jesse for adding the color today! I am looking forward to nex week!

ITs not ALL done yet. the timing light still needs teh time entered (which will be my dads fastest 1/4 mile time) also the empty space above the strip still needs to get some stuff added. still not sure what yet, but I do have one idea.

next week Jesse adds teh color to the auto cross track, maybe even the circle track ( I think the auto cross track is small enough to also do the circle track in the same sitting?????)

then after that comes all the stuff that ties it in. (like the space above the drag strip and so on)

Thanks again Jesse! I am very impressed!

I can't see the images from work, due to the damn web browser settings, but I am to assume that the guy made a Renown paint job? I hope it is better than that sad attempt at the Speedsource #70.

prior to the autocross setup I had
front camber -0.7
rear camber -1.5
toe 0.0 front, 0.0 rear

Now:
front camber -1.0
rear camber -1.8
front toe 0.0
rear toe +0.2

I believe that is the setting, but on toe, the readout wasn't +0.2...it said something like +1/8th inch.

Cobalt vs SRT4

Casey,
I added the dodge ram logo and sent you back the cobalt. I also spent about 3 hours placing the skin onto a Dodge SRT4 as a guy asked me specifically to place that skin on the SRT4.

I made some adjustments to your number, as well as that little sprocket thing on the side. I also added a "Stanley" logo to the rear pillar. I added a drop shadow on the dodge ram logo and think it looks nicer that way.

I like the name on the roof, that is a nice touch.

Some things I would suggest on your car.

(1) Change your number to numbers I have on the Dodge. There were some areas in your number that were a little choppy...and there was some color coming from behind, it wasn't solid.

(2) Change the coloring of the Goodyear on the wheel well.

(3) Change coloring of the Mechanix logo on the fender.

(4) Change the sprocket thingy.

(5) look at the front of the hood on my Dodge....look at how I did the Charger logo with the black stripe.

(6) There are two balck squares on the JESEL logo that need to be white. They are in the upper corners of that decal.

(7) Pull that blue/white box from the front of the rear fender, delete it as it is not on the #9 car.

(8) delete the images from behind the rear fender as well. Those are a GM performance loge, and some little orange square thingy....which are not on the dodge.

(9) add a black box as an outline on the Holley logo. I placed one below the layers of the rest of that decal, and just enlarged it once up, once to the right.

Let me know if you want some assistance. I think it is about 90% complete and almost ready to go in the auction house. I'll keep my dodge version and keep copies up in the auction house for sale. Lets get your cobalt complete so we can earn you some money

Interestingly...the Cobalt and SRT4 are very similar when fully tuned. The horsepower, weight, and PI are almost identical. Raced last night with Jessie and his tuned Cobalt....and I think they are almost like the same car. Only difference I noted was that the SRT4 will definately NEED the rear spoiler. Without it, there was no way for me to keep the car straight.

It made Jessie and I think what other sport compacts we could consider in this race. I was thinking today, that Toyota has a Camry in Nascar...I'll have to look for the number of the car....but maybe I could put that skin on a Scion? That car might be equivalent?

yeah, id say

chevy= cobalt SS

dodge= neon SRT-4

ford= focus RS

toyota= scion TC

all are relatively the same size......and having diversity in cars really makes it fun... but we need to do major testing to make sure nobody has a big advantage over the others.... so far, the srt-4 and the cobalt were neck and neck (besides keith beinga far better driver than me)

I have all those cars....so I could definately supe them up and see how they do. I just can't imagine that a focus could do much, but it all depends on what motor swaps are available.

Anyone up for some Nascar'in tonight....or some C-class RX8 racing? If so, send me a note on xbox live or something and we'll set up a room.

Jessie, I want that MRS setup man.

dude, you are way to picky about some of those. :-/

The numbr looks good on my screen... I wonder why it looks different on yours.

agreed that the good beer color needs to change. (get it?)

I thought abot doing the stanly decal, I simply got tired of painting.

the rest..... small stuff I never noticed being as its mostly the small decals you did... I never bothered with those. (except the good year, I had to take a lot of black out so it would look right on the white car.)

yes, maybe so...but I was just giving some constructive feedback. I'm sure you could sell them as it stands....go ahead and start putting them up. I'm selling mine with just the Enkie wheels and the paint. Starting Price 200, buyout 250. Make sure you lock em.

(EDIT) I want to post a completed pic of the #9 Cobalt on my Nascar Night thread....so let me know when you are completed with the car. I will make sure they know that you are the creator of the vehicle and to look for your name as an official seller of that vehicle.

(EDIT#2) I thought we were collaborating on the #9 project.....? I have others that you can do if your interested in making money on the AH. The Burger King #00 would be easy. I already have the BK logo that I salvaged off another vehicle from the auction house....and the 83 redbull would be popular. I already have the red bull logo. Just let me know man.....

(EDIT#3) 36 Big Lots car and #21 Autozone would be easy as well.
