He doesn't need to cancel subscriptions. You can just select it to not send emails.
He may sign-on as his alias. Maybe you've heard of him - Ike.

Excellent work on the first post of this thread speeddemon. You may not realize it, but closing the old thread and summarizing it this way will HELP your get-togethers in the long run. New people can now find all that info easily.
I know it's a pain to close these big threads, but the decision to do so wasn't just a shot in the dark. We've put in hundreds of hours analyzing, tweaking, analyzing some more recently to try and figure out what causes 'slow queries' in MySQL. Because a single slow query can bring the entire server cluster to a crawl for a minute or two. There are quite a few things that can cause these slow queries, and lock tables for long enough to hurt performance - closing these big threads is just one action we've taken. So please, bite your tongue if you feel like complaining. We do know what we're doing

Thanks Boostd 7. The first post on the last thread was the same though. I tried my best to always keep the first post up to date. I know what you mean about new people needing to find the info easily.
I dont think anyone here has really said anything bad have they??? We were all pretty much just upset that we were so close to the 10,000 post mark. but once we hit it I think pretty much everyone here was ok with the switch over.
My biggest concern was loosing all those pictures we have taken over the years (as you see in the first post) but as long as we can still access them with those links on the first post I dont have a problem. I am happy doing what ever I can to help make the site run smoother and faster. Just like everyone else I dont want to sit for 5 minutes waiting for the next screen to pop up, just for it to tell me that the page has timed out, and that I just lost my post that took me 10 minutes to type.
I am sorry if any of us said something stupid. but I really dont think anyone here is truly upset. (besides It's a free site, so tell them to shuv it. )

Right now it's still available for reading, it's just not a sticky anymore and it's closed.
Scroll down a little and you'll see it.
Maybe if it gets deleted, it will still be available in the archive section.

Basically, any thread has an archive version.
Take the regular link
https://www.rx8club.com/west-rx-8-forum-34/once-month-meeting-near-san-bernardino-45646/
and replace the "showthread.php?t=" with "archive/index.php/t-" and it takes you to a simple all text version of the thread.
Here's the thread your reading in the archive version.

I spend about 4hours a day waiting for queries to run at work.
In fact, the only thing that keeps me from going crazy is that I can surf the web while I'm waiting for Access or dBase to do it's thing.
I don't need the forums I'm on, going slow too.
Thanks for your work and this forum. Hope the changes help fix the issues.

Congratulation Loren!!! That's freaking awesome! Buy a bottle of wine, champagne, beeer, vodka, whatever your flavor is and toast to yourself for a job well done, an investment wisely made, and to the beginning of a LOT of fond memories in that house.

I reserved the biggest one so I don't have to be too organized when throwing everything in.
Loren, you should come to, it will be good practice for your move coming up.

What gear were you in?
Is there a chance you were redlining and hit the rev-limiter?
125 in 6th gear is no problem, and I think you can do it in 5th.
