makes me want to put my car back to stock and take it in for the 4th gear grind.... its getting pretty bad. (although I dont expect a full tranny replacment, a 4th gear replacment would be nice!)

Cool, you'll get to drive the slower, black RX8 again.
Let me know next time you want to win BSP again, and I'll let you borrow the faster yellow.

This would be a good time to check your clutch, flywheel and throwout bearing, for thickness and height, make sure they are in spec so they wont cause you a problem down the road.

I may pull the flywheel and clutch out. With the news of the new trans this morning...I'll have to discuss the issues again with Erica.

If you want to setup one of your cars for BS you should use hers, less weight with the base car and less parts to take off to make it legal.

... you think the parts caused the failure???..... oh god, you HAVE been hanging around the service people to long!
thats cool, take off the flywheel, clutch, pulleys, exhaust, intake, springs, struts, sways, flash...... it will make it a PITA to win BSP..... of course like Jason said, then you might as well go BS. (given you switched to 245's on 8" wheels.
I still blame the failure on driver, 70.000 miles, and the beatings you have given it with auto cross, and meets.
