for your guys who are on yahoo music, did you hear the service is being canceled. you will slowly transition over to raphasdy and your monthly cost will eventually rise as well. (if i read the article right)

Yes, you are correct.
Yahoo has less than 400k music subscribers, and Rhapsody has less than 1million.
Rhapsody will take over the subsciption portion of Yahoo Music Unlimited.

Once again, you can thank Apple's genius marketing dept.
Somehow, they made most of the world accept $.99 per song.
I swear those people could sell ice to eskimo's.

I've been on Yahoo Music for 3years, paying $70 per year. I've downloaded over 8000 songs. That's less than $.03 per song.
Even when it goes to Rhapsody, it will still be cheaper than any pay-per-song service.
I'll probably split the cost of subscription w/ someone. You can usually load the software on several pc's.

I've been using Listen Rhapsody, owned by Real.com. Are we talking about the same Rhapsody? I've been dishing out about $15 a month to stream loads of music, but no downloads.

Yes it's the same Rhapsody.
They have songs that you can sync to an mp3 player that is "PlayForSure" compatible.
Basically they are locked down, protected WMA files. or, WMA-DRM files. (DRM = Digital Rights Management)
You can't move them to other pc's or burn to a cd, but you can sync them to your mp3 player that's compatible w/ DRM files.
Problem is, that does not include iPod's, and you have to sync all your songs every month to update the license.
That's were MuvAudio comes in. It's a program that takes protected music files and converts them to unprotected MP3 files.
Then you can have your way w/ your music.

I might do this. I know Rhapsody has the To-Go program that you described, but I have an iPod. I wasn't aware there was a program that could solve this dilemma. Since I'm paying for the music, I might sync it to some sort of usb drive and use MuvAudio to strip the DRM. Then I can put those tracks on my iPod. I have an iPod car hookup (the auxiliary cable, not the fancy connection) so I use it on my commute every day.

Even though Apple does not support it, I will still continue to pay for the songs I'm using. Although this violates Apple's policy, this is in the bounds of the law, correct?

Apple doesn't support WMA-DRM files because they are from the other evil company called Microsoft.
Just like Zune players don't play MP4 from the white devil known as Apple.
BTW - I believe some of the stuff you get from itunes is also protected. They are MP4-DRM files.
Nothing to do w/ laws, just $$$.

yes, I will be there with calendars and open hands to collect the money for Loren.

This MAY be our last cruise with RXZ88M. I may need to leave the cruise before we stop for lunch to get abck to Orange County to sell the car. If the buyer gets the ok from his parents, after seeing the car, then I'll be handing the keys over Saturday afternoon......we'll see.

So, bring your cameras, kleenex and a bucket to wipe up all the tears.

hate to hear it about your rxz88m but i am sure you are ready to get rid of the selling efort off your head.

Still wating for you guys to intorduce the 3, you got to give it a bath, just because it is not a rx you still need to treat her right otherwise you will have the same eomtions about the paint etc all over again.

The Snowfl3k got a wash on Tuesday....she's all cleaned up and ready for her first photo shoot. The weather has cleared up, but now you can't see the mountains through all the haze. Missed the opportunity for great pictures the other day when it was still stormy, but clear.

The 3 has it's plates, put them on this morning....and has 1k miles already. I drove her today so Erica could drive the RXz88M.
