So how many RX-8 owners do we have in San Diego County. I have seen only three 8's so far. :p

I haven't seen any others on the road yet (other than the red one out the front of John Hine near mission valley)

I saw a silver one at an engine rebuild get-together at Dave G's "place" (from fc3s.org) the other week, but I don't recall whose that was...

.. oh yeah - nice ride!

Simon.

Ive only seen one other one on the road (a blue, down at the airport)

I see about 4 every day or so when I pass John Hine.. I wonder if sales have slowed down?

Smile

I saw a Black RX-8 Saturday on El Camino Real going South. I was in my Black RX-8 and almost gave myself whiplash from turning my head so fast. Then about a hour later I saw a blue RX-8 by the back gate of Camp Pendleton. I am starting to see more. Can't wait till we came all get together and go for a cruise.:D

I live/work in Mira Mesa and have only seen 3 other RX-8s. 1 red in the UTC parking lot and yesterday I saw 2 on the road (red on Scranton Rd. and silver on Mira Mesa Blvd.). I'm really surprised I haven't seen more of them... it's kinda lonely Give it a few months and they'll be all over the place (just look at how many Z's there are driving around now).

I actually hope they dont become like Z's where it seems like veryone and there mom has them. Z's seriously are becoming like mustangs where everyone has them... one reason I decided to get the RX8 because it was more unique and hopefully more rare to see on the road.

Same here, but it can only last so long. Judging by all the people that stare at my car, it seems it'll be fairly popular.

I'm here! I drive a Red GT every morning east on 52 then north 15 to Pomerado. Check out an earlier thread where we did a road rally to Julian. You'll see a lot of SD owners listed there.

I was wondering what happened to you. I did not see you in here. We have to get everyone together some weekend for a drive down the coast. Hard thing is getting a time that everyone can meet.

My wife drives hers everyday from Santee to North Island for work. We've had it for about three weeks. We went to Julian last weekend. It was good clean, tire destroying fun. I usually save the weekend for the bike and run up there but it was still fun in a car. Just this car though. We're at 1700 miles now so we're driving the hell out of it but only cause it's fun. I'd go to a group run if anyone is putting one together. My buddy has an 01 Vette and the local vettes get together all the time and run up Palomar and up to Julian and Borrego. Usually I reserve this for the bike but I'm willing give it a regular go in the car since it's so fun to drive and the other owners seem pretty cool too.

sandiegorx8 -- I'm guessing you have the other yellow from JH? My buddy saw a yellow on sunrise highway about the time you describe, thought it was me...

No, we got the sunlight silver. I did see a yellow one though. It was in the lot at Lake Cuyamaca by the gas station. I saw a Titanium one on 79 on the way up the hill, he was coming down. Looked like an older couple, I remember it cause my wife said, man they look old to be driving a sports car. No offense if the aforementioned was anyone here.

Saw the silver one on Mira Mesa yesterday. He was 2-3 cars ahead of me in heavy traffic; worked my way up next to him, gave him a honk, he gave me a thumbs up, then I jammed through a lite leaving him stuck at the red light. I win!! I saw the same car parked by a condo complex on Summerdale (off Camino Ruiz) unless there are two identical in that area. That's the FIRST 8 I"ve seen out cruzin' in two months of ownership.

That could have been us by the lake -- we stopped at wally's bar&grill for lunch, then on by Julian to a winery to get some wine we had at a little restaurant in North Park the night before. Mengini winery or similar was the name of the place.

No offense taken, but how old do you have to be to be too old to drive a sports car?

lol, I don't know but I'll ask my wife what the cut off age is. Hopefully it'll give me a few more years to get a couple more in the garage.

Cool - I work just down the road at the RB courtyard on the corner of RB road and WB drive

Funny I haven't seen a single '8 in RB yet though.

Simon.
