Here are the pics from today. Sorry for the poor framing and quality -- I had to crop most of them down to a quarter the size as well as crop out my hood(!), and straighten them all out as well -- but I set it up last minute. I'll do bettah next time, I promise!

Here are the forums I lurk at for autocross here in San Diego. This is where I get notification of event flyers being posted, and if you follow the links that Derrick gave, you can get to the schedule of events. I used to check that page every day to get on the Practice Day lists as they can fill up pretty quickly.
Thanks for posting that info, Derrick.

Truly, my bad. I took things for granted and hardly prepped at all.
Regardless, I had a great time. I hope to do it again and go a little harder next time.

Guys, that was a blast! Thanks for cruising out. Great pics Burt!
Yeah, next time I think I'll print up a map for everybody just in case some rogue RX-8 jacks our caravan again.
Derek and Burt, keep me updated on when you plan on Auto-crossing. I'm definitely in for the next practice day/track day.

I sent a check in for the 11/8/08 practice at California Speedway. When I hear that I've gotten on the list for sure, I'll let you all know.
Seeing as how there's more interest, I'm gonna see about arranging childcare so I can race the 11/2/08 Championship event on Sunday. I'll post about that as well.
Bear in mind, any of you can race. These Championship events often have "X-Runs" which means you run in the X Class which has no restrictions. $30 for 3 runs, then potential fun runs after the event for a couple bucks a shot. It's all "good times"!

Guys, are there practice runs after the championships on 11/2 or do you have to be a qualified driver or something? Do you have to sign up early?

If there's time after a championship event, they have "fun runs". Those are timed, but aren't recorded. With the short days of sunlight, they may not have much time, though. Also, if things go slowly over the regular day's event, they may not have enough time at all.
I'm pretty sure that fun runs are available only if you've participated that day.

hey guys for everybody thats interested in coming down to the stadium on sunday. im prolly gonna be down there at like 9ish(registration is 7:30 till 12:30 for those that wanna get signed up early. First car starts at 9). i heard it might rain but im gonna hope for the best. You dont need to be part of the scca before you go down there. You can buy a day pass for $15 and sign up later. you get a little coupon code so you dont have to pay another 15 when you buy the membership. Anyway hope to see some of you down there
