San Diego Repair Shops
Hey guys,
Long time, no post....
Can anybody recommend a rotary repair shop? I just paid some jackass in Santee $96 to tell me he didn't work on rotaries (after he said over the phone that he'd worked on RX-7/8s before). I got back from a snowboarding trip last weekend and the car won't start. I'm at 54k miles now so my warranty is gone and I'd like to not get completely jacked at the dealership if I can afford it.
Thanks!

www.autotechmotorsports.com, they are a good shop they did my suspension work and I know they installed a turbo on a local Rx8.

I wound up taking the car to Z-Whizz in Kearny Mesa. My dad took his '80 RX-7 there for probably 15 years and they always did him right. They used to be on El Cajon Blvd. and when they moved I just though they had closed down shop or something, but they're very knowledgable rotary mechanics and it was within the 15 mile towing distance that my insurance allows.
Unfortunately is sounds like it might be MAJOR. They're not positive yet, but they think that a piece of the ceramic casing on one of the spark plugs broke and if it fell into the engine it may have seriously torn some **** up. Will find out more this afternoon.
