San Diego RX Club Cruise - December 13th

Invitation to a Cruise

Hate to cross-post, but below is the link to keep up on the latest details of the cruise.
http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?p=9613671#post9613671

======
We've got another drive coming up next month, the weekend after the regular monthly meeting. Basic info is below. More details to follow.

Date: Sunday, December 13, 2009
Place: Safari Coffee Roasters
Time: 9:30 am; driver’s meeting at 10:00 am
Depart: 10:15 am (sharp)

Directions to departure point:
- Safari Coffee Roasters (http://safaricoffee.com/Findus.htm)
- 1012 West El Norte Parkway, Escondido
- (Ref Thomas Guide, dtd 1999 – plate 1109:F6)
- Phone: 760.740.9575
- They are located off the I-15 Freeway. Take El Norte Parkway, head west and turn right into the first driveway. You will see them straight ahead,
to the left of Vons.

If you were interested in the drive I noted in the thread for our November meeting, this is the one. Had a few requests and wanted to give more time for people to plan, so the date was shifted a bit. Hope that works out for everyone. We've done this route before and I think you'll like it - one of our shorter /quicker ones. More details later.

I have attached an overview map, with elevation profile, to give you an idea of the drive. Don't be too concerned about the steep ascents or descents, it's a little aberration on the map scale. I will be checking the route out some time over the next few weeks.

Escondido? your killing me...I'm all the way in Coronado. I'll show up though! I'm new by the way.

" The roads can be narrow; the corners can be very tight"

I'm also not the most experienced driver here..pretty young..am I going to die?

Alright, Stevo! Good to have you back.

More details located at the link below. Will be updated this weekend.
http://where-yat.net/sdrxc/Next-Drive.htm

For Misfyre:
If ya think the drive to Escondido is a bit far, check out this other drive we had earlier in the year. The RED route is what we drove. Some have even been through the Borrego desert.

Just click on the UP arrow to see pics from the entire trip.

Hope to see more of you on this drive.

Don't forget the drive on December 13th.

All the latest information is posted at the link below. Links to maps and Google Earth files are provided. Check the lunch location.
http://where-yat.net/sdrxc/Next-Drive.htm

There may be a couple of spots where the expected rain will impact us, but we'll just take it slower. Be sure to bring a GMRS /FRS radio if you have one.

I am sure we'll get through the drive in enough time to catch the latter part of the Chargers' game.

See ya next Sunday.

POSTPONMENT of Drive on 12/13

The rain will not let this happen. From my pre-run, there is likely debris on the roads in many areas. If I had to drive in the area, that would be fine. However, it would not make for a fun drive, as intended.

Projected new date is January 10th.

See complete announcement at link below.

Guessing you don't know much about Escondido and why Border Patrol would be needed there.....

Well, did ya go? Trouble is that it usually ends up this way. rains until the last bit and then turns sunny. Only thing is that some of the more windy roads were on the east side of the hills and so probably did not dry out.
