SCV - Northern LA county Drive 9/5/04
#3
I was thinking we could meet at my house in Valencia. Head on over to McDonalds. Shoot the crap, Head on up to Lake Elizabeth, Green Valley Lake and the Castaic area. It's a nice road. No police. Lots of elevation changes.
We could meet about 8ish? Start the drive about 9 after breakfast.
Weather should be cooler by then.
Any thoughts or additions?

Coffee shop or better - nothing like a good b'fast before a lively drive -
Come on you SF Valley/SG Valley 8 owners - doesn't a ride on 9/5 (labor day Sunday) sound good to a FEW MORE of you????
I'm still game - even if it's just Samsonite1 & me..........

Possible to put this out in the general discussion forum a week or so before the ride without upsetting anyone? I bet you'll get a better response and get people to start looking over here more often. I found this forum by accident when searching for a suggested road trip -- found bern's April route from Thousand Oaks to Santa Maria, via Ojai, which I drove last Sunday - even ate at the Roadhouse Grill in SM.

Starbucks,
I thought about it but it's targeting a small area of Los Angeles compared to the reach that this site has.
I am not what to do about it actually. I guess time will tell. The SW section sees a lot of action so you never know...

Bouquet Canyon
Too keep the thread alive.....
I headed up Bouquet Canyon this weekend. I got stuck behind a couple of slow moving Harley's (I own one, so I can say that)....but on the way back from AV I took Spunkey Canyon to San Franscido (excuse the spelling) SC and SF were W - I - D - E open. No body around anywhere. I guess BC is getting crowded.
Yeeeahhh baby. The twists and turns are great!

If it's an earlier run, I'm in... As in the run ends before 9am or so. Wifey doesn't like it when I show too much affection to my car!
How about start time around 7am? On the roads to the twisties by 7:30am?

Would be great to have you - I think we are planning breakfast at 7:00 - should be able to hit the road at 7:30 or so - don't cha think, Samsonite???
However - I don't know how long Samsonite's route takes. You could always turn around and head for home if it's getting too late........

anyway.....
7:00 works for me. The drive is about an hour so you should be home by 9:00. Lot's twisty's and lot's of elevation changes. Fast sweepers and the like.
I am trying to accomidate the "low carb" request for breakfast so I am going to look for a place to eat that is not too far from the drive area.

O.K.
Rereading one of the P.M.'s, A breakfast solution was presented that will please both "Carb Lovers" and "Carb Haters". No sure how I missed that but oh well.
It's on the way to the drive but it's off a side road that can be confusing if you have never been there.
I live right McBean and Valencia and you have to pass my house on the way there so, If you guys want, we can meet and my house @ 6:48ish and caravan up the road to breakfast. If not we can meet there,
I will have maps for the drive so no one will get lost.
Thought's?
