This will require driving AWAY from Irvine and then BACK to Irvine but the the look on people's faces and seeing this carvan should make it toally worth it!
I live 5 mins from MNAO and I STILL drove out to Cerritos for this caravan last year. Only 16 cars last year and it was worth it....imagine 100+

As posted in the SoCal Caravan thread:

I just got off the phone with the CHP's Westminster office!


I explained the fact that we were getting a caravan together, what the purpose was, where we were going to, and the CHP has officially given us the THUMBS UP!

The CHP officer has said we should be fine on the freeway and they'll leave us alone as long as none of us do anything "stupid". They will try and have their officers aware of our presence and we shouldn't get any interference from them that day.
Oh, and he mentioned they don't do CHP 'escorts' unless it's official government business or for motor pools that large.
