Keith, I asked you what you thought of the course, but I never asked you what you thought of your runs... were you happy with them? do you think you sucked ***? your 2nd and 3rd run were real close to each other. good consistancy.

Steve is a good guy. Fast in anything he drives.

I took it to the right the first run, cone on drivers door, but that was because I was to fast going in. I fixed it and went the other side the last two runs.

The front of you car has some sick grip now, grip that it never had with a 245, so now you need to start getting the rear to do more work.

That S2000 is fast. That is a 100% setup BSP car to the full limit of the rules. Lots of $$$$$$ in that thing. The driver is good to.

Street tires vs R tires are about 1-3 secs on a 60 sec course. It can be more or less, Grassroot Motorsports Mag did a test in which the were only 1 sec slower on street tire than R tires. Just depends on the car, tire brand and size. Even then for all the talk I have seen well of the pace.

was interesting to hear him and you tell us that you took that last mini salom differant then we were all taking it. goes to show that we/I have a lot to learn about lines. I really thought to the right was the best line. my bad.

I'm not beating myself up to bad. mostly dissapointed in my 2 spins. I must have beed just flat out driving to hard when I didnt think I was.

I know it sounds stupid, and I hate saying it because I soud stupid saying it, but I really just didnt feel like I had the grip with these tires as I did with the old ones. everything I did made the car want to spin. I did NOT have the push effect I usually have. not even once.

did you guys see that the BSP S2000 PAXed 6th with a 61.591?

Razz was running on street tires. what do you think a good time for his car and setup would have been?

Damn, ULLLOSE calling Razz1 out on his first real autox event. Ouch. Must've been the bling wheels that set him off.

I thought it was obvious to take the last slalom on the left, duh! Of course, I took the long slalom in the back the wrong way the first 2 times. That's what happens when you don't pay attention during the course walk.

Casey, were you trail-braking too much into that fast left sweeper? You had to be real gentle braking in there. The back end was stepping out just a bit when I got on the brakes entering the turn.

You were going fast enough to get the car loose?

The pressure drop is what I would have done right then at the event. Now that you have some time before the next event you should evaluate the whole package and try to figure out what you did or did not like about the car.

Was it loose/over-steer on corner entry, middle, exit or everywhere? How was it is transitions and slaloms? Did it put power down good? Any push/under-steer in any turns?

It could be just a pressure change but from what I could see it looked like snap over-steer, it was not a gradual slide it just went, so you may need some more adjustments.

However like MP5 said, it can be the driver making it happen with a harsh input.

what's trail braking?

the first spin was in the first turn right after the big slalom in the back. I spun here with no brakes, and light throttle.
second spin was after that turn ENTERING the ........... screw it I edited the map of the track. here you can see locations.

does this help?

What is the best way to brake this down for you.....

I will use them all:

In real event, 3 runs, I still had you.

That .026 of a second only cost you $1000.00.

If I would have beat you, as usual, you would have never gone for the double.

If I don't toss you a bone once in a while you might quit and go do track days with the rest of the hacks.

Yeah you got me.... I think that takes my margin of victory for the day down to 2.1 sec.

I can come up with more if that does not crush your spirit.

All kidding aside I was happy to see Jason do well, he is starting to figure this stuff out.

btw I hear that out SD times should be near top 10 pax.

Were you maybe a bit wide and got a tire in the dirt off line? How did the car feel the rest of the run?

it very well could be driver! I am not denying that.

it was snap over streer entering a coner. I never even had a chance on the first one to try and save it. the second spin was a LITTLE more gradual.

the car was loose entering a corner, really my main problem seemed to have been comming in to a corner.

in the middle of a turn the car felt real good (at least to me it did) and comming out there was really no problem. (getting power down seems to not be a problem.)

unlike normal the car did not seem to have much under steer. usually I have the push problem, but this time I dont ever remeber thinking "TURN, TURN, TURN" it was more like "dont spin, dont spin, dont spin"

the thing that gets me the most is when I had given up on my last lap and just putted back and in the middle of a turn I almost spun again. maybe I was putting faster then I thought, but I seriously was not trying what so ever.

it looks like I have 2 months before I have anoter track day, so I will have time to take a look at the alignment at some point. the setup should be virtually the same setup as last time minus a little tow. last time towed out almost 1/2"... (yes I know way to much.) this time tow was more like 1/8". other then that I didnt change a thing.

of course it's possible, i really dont know. all I can do is is wait till next time to see if the stupidity goes away. only getting 3 runs makes it hard for me to see if it's just me or the car. again being as I didnt change much in the settings depatment, and being as I added a lot more tire, I have to belive right now that it is simply driver error at this point.

Isley, that's funny.... mean, but funny. we can always look towrd you to crush our spirits. :D
I dont care, MP5 took you down in SD fair and square........ then you came out here and gave us a beating we will all remember for a long time.

None of that matters as it does not show up on the results!

Like I said yesterday, trying to trash talk with you is tough. I got to take what I can get.

Anyone notice that Rick G. and his buddy drove an Exige at the event? I need to start making friends with these guys so we can swap cars.

Sounds like you may have just been a bit wide in the turn and got into the dirty stuff.

You could still stand to take a few pounds out of the rear tires.

Also if you have not already when you check your alignment next time you should mark all the cams with touch up paint, then you can see at a glance if one has moved. With the big tires you are now putting more force on them and one could slip.

Don't spend any more money on mods, get some seat time.
I actually got an 70.878 on my last run but they didn't post it.

They used my first run with the instructor which was 78 sec.

I could have gone alot faster but El Toro taught me that I drive too fast.
So I now concentrate on driving slower otherwise I stop at the outside cones before I turn! Only knocked over 1 cone, you should have seen El Toro!

I still got the RB front swar bar which pushes hard. But the new setup with KW's reverses that.

Considering everyone has a light flywheel that has to be worth 2 to 3 tenths plus the slicks that would bring me down to 68.578

I'm still not too enthused about slaming on the brakes and turning in Auto X.
Reminds me of street racing when I was a kid.

That's not my thing, I like high speed.

So you can continue to slam me.

You want to know something?

It's all those left hand turns. The tech guy used his body weight with the battery, the I double checked it was tight.

Those lefts unscrewed my nuts. The battery was loose as hell when I got home and I never spun out like Speed Demon.

If my nut were loose maybe that was my problem

Its cool if its not your thing. Lots of people get frustrated with it and quit. Lots of people love to do track days, when you get 100 laps on a track you are bound to learn that track and turn in some decent laps. Where as with autox you have to figure it out in three runs with no practice.

So what tracks have you run and what were your lap times?

btw two of the fastest RX8s there, MP5 and me are stock class cars, so no light flywheel, springs etc on our cars.

Hah, he said "two of the fastest" not "the two fastest". Don't be so defensive.

You can ignore my 63.9 scratch time if you want and still say you were "fastest". Sorry, Isley's trash talking is rubbing off on me.

Yes, I was happy with my second run. My third run, I missed shifted into 2nd and grinded twice before I had it in gear. I ran the rest of the course well and am getting happy with my learning curve on getting the rear loose and feeling comfortable with it. I have come the furthest with this....I can still remember my first couple of practice events where I would let off at the first hint of losing the rear...now it just is fun

MP5, sorry man, wasnt trying to diss you.... I guess I just read it wrong... I tend to get technical. but either way Isley had a point. you both are in a STOCK class and beat us. point taken.

Keith, yeah *** end comming out is fun. I usually dont have such a problem with it. this time I did. ... all well. miss shifting is odd, you usually don't do that.

RX-8 cup points are done, I will post them soon..... before I do, how did the white RX-8 i saw when we got there do? why did he not run BS? should I put him in there?
