WOW! they still have spots open?
I wish there was a way to get you down there in my car to make a couple runs. (dont really have the time for me to be going down there for a full day with me going on Sunday also, nor do I wan to put THAT much wear on my tires.)..... damn why did you have to show me that?

My bad, you do a practice or something? I thought July was your first event on them and then you used Keith's rubber for the SD event. I already got 45 runs on my "new " tires.

I'm happy with the silver....SBC would probably show mounting damage a little more than the versions casey and I have...plus, the SBC would have looked bad with the red pinstriping I did to my set...

That was a long weekend of autox. The reports I hear from the field say I got another 20pts, woo hoo!
The Isleys and I burned up some tires yesterday to prep for Natls and their tires are worse than mine (80+ vs. my 60) so we weren't quite up to pace. These were my times from today:
55.020
54.383
54.232
It's quite a miracle that over 16 runs for both days, I hit zero cones... I guess practices do work.
Heard that Keith ran a 54.2 as well, awesome man! I took a close look at your car before I left, it looks sharp with new wheels, tailights, etc. I'm guessing that Jason told you already, but there was a nice white RX8 that showed up with full MS kit, 19" Volks, smoked taillights and black badging. It looked really clean, you guys woulda liked it. Unfortunately we couldn't let him run due to a missing lug nut and broken stud... hope we didn't scare him away.

Yeah, Jason told us about the white MS kitted 8. I think it is the one that is on this forum in various places. Too bad he couldn't run..but probably good cause he would have ruined a set of crappy 19 inch tires. I couldn't imagine running my 19's out on the course....no way.
I love the new wheels and tires. The wheels are so light, I commented to Snowfl8k, I could barely even feel that the car had rims. On the OE set, you definately knew you were dragging around some heavy wheels. These, you just don't feel. Fun, fun , fun.
Snow raced with them at 39 pounds, and we dropped them down to 37.5 after the first two runs. We weren't even close to rolling over on them.
My times were:
55.421
55.055
54.281
The last run was fast, with the exception of a horrible push on the last corner towards the lights. Without that push, I would have beat both of you guys....but then again....this was on a brand new set of fricken huge tires compared to your sets that had lots of runs on them. So, moral of this story, I could have earned 10 points today, but I still have a long way to go to catch up to you guys in experience. I'm hoping now, with this final setup of rims/tires, I can get some practice and learn how to drive them properly.
Here's some pics of the new setup...I just love the split spoke design, as well as how far the rim comes out in the wheel well...just fits perfect. Oh, and the tailights, just trying to do something different for 7-stock. I'm hoping to be the only one with that look....we'll have to see though.

you all spanked me. I ran a 54.9xx as my best. the car felt great this time (which latley it has been feeling loose) but I just couldnt seem to get myself to go fast. I feel like I took everything a tad slower then I should have. I dont know if I was being a woose and trying to to "over do it" or what, I just never felt like "yeah that was fast!". i just was not on my game yesterday (as if I have a game ).
congrats all!
oh yeah and I started at 40/38 tire presh, and droped to 36/32 by my 3rd run. tire roll over was getting fairly close to the edge.

mp5 ran great all weekend... I think he stayed within .5 at the practice all day and beat my 54.242 on Sun, now lets see what you can do when it counts next week. To lazy to look for timeslips but I think Jennifer sat on her first run, 55.4 as her 55.0 was dirty.
I mounted four brand new tires in less than an hour last night, I got skills.

I'm flying out there and driving someone else's car. I've heard the Hoosiers have good grip but need to be warmed up... I assume they will be new tires, they better be.

An RX8 of course. There were other offers out there, but I really want to stick to B-stock this time around since I know the competitors and I think I'd have the best chance in a familiar car.
