Certainly not one of our best showings. I believe its a lack of seat time much more so than anything with the car. I got tagged for driving too fast through the exit road by CalClub, but I dont' recall driving much over 25 getting out. If it was me, fine--I fessed up, but who has the RX-8 with the MS body kit?

rick, you interested in going to a practice day? If so, I may be able to find you company for the day. There are a couple of guys in the San Bernardino group who don't compete, but have expressed interest in a practice day.

Cesar, Loren (Lesper4) and Denward (Ghost) have all expressed interest in doing a practive day. Casey and I could show up as well...maybe split the day. It is more fun doing it with others you know. It is a long day if you end up doing it by yourself.
When we get a lot of 8 owners out there, we make the day an RX8 cup day...running in the same run group..and seeing what times we all get. It is fun. Haven't had one in awhile.

Hey guys, in case you didn't hear... Jason is the 06 champ! Nationals was cool... a 350z was in 2nd only a tenth behind.
As for me, I choked. I need to work on my anti-choke skillz.

Slow Jason, Cone Jason, or MP%...you didn't do too bad. 8th aint to be shameful of, especially given you were racing in someone elses 8, on Hoosiers...how were the tires?

Yeah, I woulda been happy with 8th. Unfortunately that is just yesterday's results, the final results have me in 18th after today's runs. Had some cone troubles, then had some foot slippage when I needed to be hard on the brakes so today's time sucked.
I'll have to put some thought into the Hoosier/Kumho comparison. It's diffcult to do since the car setup was a bit different than we run and the surface was slippery...

The car definitely liked to push more than I'm used to, and the low tire pressures made it feel mushy when turning in. It felt like they were rolling over quite a bit, but that coulda been me pushing them too hard. The grip level seemed to be on par with the 710, but I wouldn't say they are any more competitive... and if they don't last as long I don't see much point in switching.
Black Subaru brother? That sounds a little funny Max won the Pro Solo Finale, and trophied at Natls... I think 8th. Rick Jung in the Evo was around 6th in the STU trophies as well.

Seems like Jason and Jennifer have trouble winning in the same year.
03 Jennifer ASL
04 Jennifer ASL
05 Jason BS
06 Jason BS
I think Jason will have to take a dive next year so Jennifer can get her next 2 championships.

I had a hotel and rental car and still the total cost is around $750 for my trip. You could go cheap and camp at the site with no rental car, and even ride out to Topeka with someone and probably get outta there only spending a couple hundred bucks.

the part that kills is the length of the experience...hard to get off that many consecutive days during the school year....only if it occured during the summer, when I have way too many days off and I get bored.
I think the issue with Jennifer, is that she is rusty. No disrespect, but she hasn't really competed that much recently...and I think there is something to say about rust and cobwebs in a sport where tenths of seconds count.
