Damn, Keith has been going off lately. It's gonna be mighty tough to hold the 2nd place position with 2 more events to go. I was hoping Jen would block him.

67.669
66.498
66.264

I think there were cones on the 2nd run, but it doesn't really matter. What kind of times did Rick run?

I think Rick was in the high 68's or 69's. Not too sure though.
I updated RX8 Cup 6 results with MP5's three runs, and Speed's fastest run.

What were Michelle's runs, I think she started with 81.XXX and finished at 74.xxx? Still waiting for Rick's results.

Also, there was another silver 8 out there, noticed that he was lining up for fun runs at the end of the day, anyone know who this was?

updated points, let me know if I messed up... pretty sure I got it right.
Keith, that just pretty much locked me out of the running for 3rd or 2nd.

Post 545 is complete...there were some cone penalties in there that were not indicated earlier, as well as some times which were off by hundreths. I've updated based on the times posted on the solo2 site.

I added two of the BS drivers. Kenneth Sterk (499) and Ron Horn (100). I don't know them, but it looks like Rick may have some competition if these guys continue to compete in B-stock. Does anyone know either, or both of these guys? Maybe we could invite them into the RX8 Cup?

This was my best event...I finally beat Max (that fast black Stu-baru) I paxed 22nd.

Those 2 B-stock guys are on street tires. I'm pretty sure Kenneth in the silver one ran in SD last weekend and I may have talked to him before.

As far as beating Max... He's not THAT good. You should be killing him in BSP.

Since I sucked so bad, I think I'll boost my spirts by recalling my top-10 finish last weekend. I wish we ran the cup down there: http://scnax.canyonsoft.com/scnax11_pax.htm

even better, you were between a Ferrari and a Lotus...nice job Jason.

I think Max is good, and he is a nice guy. I rate myself, or at least my car against his, because when I was racing in STU, he was beating me by like 10 seconds. This just gives me a good comparison of how the mods I have made to the car have improved things. I'm just getting that much better...well, at least my car is, and I'm starting to get a handle on how to drive it.

max and jennifer still got me in Pax, even though my raw time was better. Oh well...

Hey guys.. that was me on the silver 8 in BS.. Actually it was my first event CSCC event. I pretty much got hooked when my friend took me a couple PCA and BMW events beforehand.

I haven't been as active in the forum in a while but I poke around when I get the chance. And now it looks like through this thread that there is a healthy little RX-8 thing going on. Sweet!

Now the real question I have is should I be competeing in BS or SK1? Looking at the results there really wasn't much competition in BS, just myself and one other car. Is that typical?

Next event I will have to seek you guys out.

If you are still on street tires you should run SK. Sometimes myself and mp5 run in BS, just depends what time of day they run. I don't like to be there all day and don't care to run first heat so I will sign up for BS, PAX or BSP to get in the heat I want.

...looks like Rick may have some competition...

A couple more events and they'll be beating me! I knew I was in trouble when Keith asked me about the slalom after the tight turn; my response--what tight turn... doh!

Ken, I drive out from Torrance and usually hit the early runs groups like Jason. I couldn't wake up early last Sunday so I ran BSP. It's great to see Keith and Casey pull on the Jason(s) with their fat rubber. Thanks for the new avatar Keith and Erica!

Welcome to the thread...I'm sure Speeddemon32 will add you to the RX8Cup.. We only have two events left this season, but will start anew in january along with the new Cal Club season. B-stock has been a dismall class here in Fontana, but I think it has been the same in San Diego. If you don't care about running for points, you can always do what Ulllose, MP5 and SPT05 do, just run in whatever class is earliest. It seems that BSP has run last, or close to last in the previous 3 events....and BS/PAX have run in the mornings.

I know SPT05 would rather run in BS, and I'm sure MP5 would run with you as well.

If you plan on purchasing R-compounds, and running for points. I would suggest staying in BS for as many events as you can. I started with street tires in STU at the beginning, ran three events before I got stomped enough to purchase r-compounds. I loved them so much, I went and bought bigger ones Sure does make for an enjoyable experience. But in switching classes midway through the year, I basically removed any chance of finishing on top of the class....

Hope to see you at the next event in November.

Keith

It's actually a Bugeye Sprite. Didn't think he could get much louder than his RX7, but he did.

ok, I know we are getting down to the final two events...and we have talked about possibly running different numbers next year based on our final positions....ie. #801, 802, 803...so on. This may be hard to coordinate, and then there are the two Jason's that run temp numbers at each Cal Club event.

Here's a second idea...maybe when this first season of the RX8 Cup is complete...we could make (2) static cling numbers/decals for everyone. Maybe we could run one on the front and rear bumper?

Maybe a combination of the RX8Cup logo Casey and I came up with (the one with the two RX8 outlines racing each other) along with a number indicating your final position from the first season....ie..."1", "2"...so on.?

Any thoughts?

edit: If new people came in after the beginning, we would just assign them a number at the bottom of the list....then maybe they would earn a higher number at the conclusion of the second season.

EDIT:
