and we are having fun. It is a blast. I have been having a lot of fun running with a car that is so close to mine ( keith) and trying to catch a driver that is so good that he can stomp all over me when he is on the smaller tires. isley is truly amazing, your not so bad yourself MP5.

I do want to get some more runs in. I feel like the 3 runs a month just are not cutting it. I really would love to do a practice day again. I just wish it was not so expensive on the tires.... when I see some light at the end of the tunnel for a new set of tires I will hit up some more practices. hopefully soon.

its also nice having isley and you come out and set some times. it gives me somehting to comapare to. like 2 races ago I tink I was only 1 second behind him. this time I was like 2.... I did not do so well this time.

same with keith. we are usually within a couple tenths of each other. but the last 2 races he has killed me!

it's nice to have some people to compare to. if it were just me out there I would have no Idea how I was doing. I would be thinking "man I did good!" when I didnt. last weekend I ran that 65.5 I was rather happy with that run... then Keith goes and pulls a 64 somehing (it was our second run).

Not trying to beat up on you guys just want you to understand. A natl tour/prosolo is another level and some take the rules very seriously, that happens when there is money on the line.

The same thing can happen at a local event, The next guy may come along with an S2000 that has big wheels and tires and he gets stuck in BSP, he might see it as an easy way to win by getting you guys DQed for wings/bodykit. Some guys take local stuff even more serious than natl stuff because they know that is there only shot to win. While it may seem like a stupid rule those are the ones that are in place that we all compete by.

All I am saying is IF the day comes someone says something about your wings/bodykits in SP don't get butt hurt about it.

Haha, what is up with all the "butt hurt" talk? I must be losing touch, never heard that before.

Guess you need to get out of your cube at work once in a while.

So you can relate it is how you felt at natls.

he he he.... yeah, you guys are funny.

I understand that some people might and will complain. and when they do I will deal with it then. for me it's really not that big of a deal, i just pull the wing off. for Keith it is a bigger deal. I think we will just ride the BSP train as long as we can, and if someone says anything about his body kit maybe then we will think about SM even though our cars are not SM preped. I really would rather stick to the same class as him and Erica.

Thank you for making sure we understand that. IF someone is to complain we have no reason to get upset as we KNOW we are not legal. (other then the fact that I think it is a stupid rule, but none the less those are the rules)

here is how the "new points" system WOULD have effected this race for just 3 guys... I need to do it more with Jason M. as I think that would accually change things.... will do. be right back.

EDIT:
ok here are the new "results" what do you guys think? I didnt get EVERYONE in there as it does not really matter untill next year anyways. just a good example.

do we all think the index numbers are fair enough? should we give a little more credit to street tire people, or is it fair enough?... what was it like 3 seconds or so?

3 seconds for street tires is good, maybe even go 3.5? The street tire guys will make improvements and will start catching the pack regardless of the index...and then again, we will improve as well.

Casey, were you able to build a spreadsheet with the index adjustment...if so, Ulllose suggested that we recalculate the entire season just to see what it would have done....of course, this would just be for exploration purposes.

i AM HAVING A PROBLEM ENTERING THE NUMBERS. i (sorry about the caps) dont know what to do about the first couple races when you were on street tires, then on 245's then 285's... when I was on 245's.... yada yada yada.

285's are obviouse... BSP
street tires are a little obvious also... street tires.
but what should we do about the times we were on 245's? should we count it as BS due to the fact that we really didnt have much suspenssion work? then again we did have some stuff done, like I had springs and sways... no struts though and 245's.... when did you get all your suspenssion work done?.... see what I mean? or should we just say that when we had 245's we were then in BSP like normal?
although it really does not matter as it is just for fun anyways.

EDIT:

ok I take some of that back... you never ran on street tires during the RX-8 cup. the first race of the RX-8 cup it looks like you were already on race tires as you are right there with me in times.
I see I did 2 races on 245's when I had switched to the 285
you did 4 races on 245's then switched over to the 285's

still same question though, what do we do for the 245 races?

if we did the new points system for the past year, and you do NOT give keith, Erica, Michelle, or I any index for the times we ran on the 245's. here is what it would have looked like as of now.

EDIT:
my bad, I forgot to take out the bottom 2 points for each person... here it is

hey guys (Keith, Jason, Jason) I cant seem to figure out how to work the Mazda Motorsports web site. I try looking up performance parts, and it just comes up blank. (no results) and I try to find stock parts (like a spare engine cover) and I cant figure that one out.

am I that retarded, or is there something wrong with my log in.

I have no idea about your login, I cant see your computer from here, so I will go with retarded.

For MazdaSpeed parts get the part number from mazdausa.com, for stock parts you have to open the stock parts pdf and look up the part #. Then you put the part number in your shopping cart, pay attention to the insturctions as there are a number of way to enter the part number, then you can get a price.

The number on the diagram is not the full part number. Look at the codes and descriptions on the right hand side. I think this is what you want: N3H3-13-13XA

you are just in time. there is a practice this weekend in El Toro. PM Scotty305 if you are interested in going. it would be $70 practice lets you run 12-18 laps. once you do it you will be hooked!
if you cant make it this weekend then take a look at solo2.com you will find all the info there. (practice days, race days)

Babo, yes, I would definately suggest that you attend a practice day...ideally, with someone else who knows what is going on. It can be overwhelming to go the first time on your own. I know there are a couple of people who have expressed some interest in going Sunday to El Toro.

Second option...you could compete with us on the 26th of November. Keep an eye on this thread for information on what time we are going to be there, and we can walk you through the process of registering, teching and such. We can walk you around the course, give you some suggestions...and you can see how an actual event works.

Third option, just show up on the 26th to watch an event. You'll get an idea of how things go, you can hang out and ask questions...even stand in the pits when we are running.

If this is something you want to do for the upcoming season, our last race is December...so it would be a good time for you to get a Cal Club card for the following season starting in January.

Which mods do you have to your car....you can check the first post to see what car class you would be in...or just post up your mods here and we'll help you.
