how did you guys know the ignition coil packs were going bad and that it was time to change them? was there an obvious sign and/ or did you notice a big loss in power?

i ask only because a few years ago i had an ignition coil go out on me in my beamer. and, the symptom was blatantly obvious, because all-the-sudden every gear felt like 5th gear. i could still drive around, but very little torque. when it happened, i pulled over, called my garage, and they had me drive over there and they fixed it the same day.

sopheak: you coming with us on Saturday?

Detrich: the coil packs wasn't super obvious but some people notice that the idle is a bit rougher, possible misfiring, hesitation under heavy acceleration, etc.

in the continuing effort to get my car ready for Saturday, cleaned my RB air filter for the first time last night. First of all...what a fricken pain to get it out....Two, that thing was fricken nasty. I bet I pick up a couple of HP that I have recently lost given all the crizzap that I cleaned off that thing.

I had to do three rounds of K/N cleaner to even get close to being clean.

holy smokes Keith! Yeah, mine was NOT pretty when I pulled it out. Did you look in the airbox and see all the dirt / pebbles that get in there?!

mine was full of sand....but I was anticipating that, given the sand storm I was in. Yup, pretty full of junk.

HAHA!!! that's too funny Bryan! I wash I just had new K&N filters to put into mine... I had to break out the K&N "Recharger Kit".

Danny: the filter is removed from the backside of the RB box so the bar gets in the way when pulling it out of the engine bay.

Hey Jedi what kind of laptop do you have? I think I have a power cord. Maybe I can look in my garage and see if I have the power converter so I can plug it in my lighter thing.
