I'm just starting the new thread now.... link will be available in a few. Please refrain from posting in the "results" thread until I've had time to upload some more graphs...

Hey Jedi

I dont know what part it is its not a spark plug but its right beside the housing, anyway when we were doing the dyno runs I was only using the one, not both. SO I wonder what would happen if I had the car at full running. The other guy with the AT barely beat me. God I want to dyno it again.

WOW after careful examination it was my spark plug. I pluged it back in when I got home but yeah I did the dyno with it off. I have decided after the dyno day that I am getting the Mazdaspeed CAI even though cleaning the filter will be a pain it seemed to have the better gains.

your spark plug wasn't plugged in?! That doesn't make any sense... if the wire was loose, you would have gotten a check engine light or the cable would been burned a bit.

How did you discover it wasn't plugged in properly? I'm confused...

There was a clicking noise coming from the driver side and so I looked under the hood and found a bare plug just sticking out. On the way there and home my CEL would flash every no and then but I thought it was due to the fact that I hade cleaned my K&N and maybe put it back in wrong. I dont get it either but yeah it was unplugged the whole time. So what do you think about the Mazdaspeed intake? It is a bit loud but from the dyno I think it has the most gains. I wonder how often they need to be cleaned!

dont waste the money, mazdaspeed CAI is basically a rebadged AEM CAI, just go for the AEM and save 100 dollars.

BRgreen is correct: MS intake = AEM.

Intakes don't provide a whole lot of horsepower so just go with the cheaper of the two.

AEM is the same exact intake, just with a different sticker and different tubing color.
