So-Cal RX Club: Annual Beach BBQ - Aug. 16th

It's that time of the year again. The yearly So-Cal RX's beach BBQ is upon us. We will be meeting at Bolsa Chica State Beach on the L.A. / Orange County border on Saturday August 16th. Come out and join us at this yearly event that gives everyone in the club a chance to show off their Rotary's and meet and greet each other. This is a great chance to see what other club members have been up to since the last meet and what's up for SS-6. This might also maybe the first club event attended by the new RX-8s.

Thank you and we hope to see quite a few RX-8s out at the beach!

We would like to get a head count of those planning to show up, to make sure we have enough food and drink.

Just reply to Gary and add your name to the list!

Details also at: http://socalrxclub.com/calendar/cale...tail.asp?ID=25

Thanks,

-Bern

They're taking donations instead of a potluck this year. They're asking for $5 but I'd bring $10 at least, plus parking. And yes, parking will be an issue if you don't roll in by, say, 9:30am latest. Bolsa Chica State Beach packs them in in the summer. If you can hook up with the caravan from Griffith Park, we'd be able to park together. Any 8's already planning on attending?

If I get my first increment 8 by then, I'm there (from San Diego.) Otherwise, I'd be embarrassed to show up in my Civic.

No real worries. In the years we've been doing this event, we've never really had any issue with parking. We alway congregate at the NORTHERN most parking area at Bolsa Chica.. all the way at the end. We usually have about 20-30 cars show. Hopefully this year we get 50 or so.

It doesn't matter, come down in the civic. You can meet some cool people and eat some good food. All are welcome.. shoot I've had to drive my Mitsubishi and a Audi to this event before.. it's really all about the Rotary spirit!

official beach web site with maps

This is the official website to Bolsa Chica State Beach:

http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=642

We will be at the northern most parking lot on the Pacific Coast Highway at Warner Ave. side.

It's a little tricky at first because when you get to Pacific Coast and Warner, it looks like there is an entrance right there, but it's actually only an exit. From Warner, you need to make a left onto PCH (south) and go down approximately a 1/2 mile or so, to the first beach entrance on the right. Once in the parking lot, you will basically be backtracking on the other side (beach side) of the fence to the northern most parking lot.

Why not?!?! If you have Rotary Love, you can come in anything. Not sure if you'll want to park the camry next to the 8's or anything, but your more than welcome to come!!!
